Been trying to find a kid to take on the youth hunt this weekend just so I can call some up and work my dog in the east zone.
Next weekend, shite will hit the fan here in Catahoula.

Leaving to scout Venice in a few minutes when I finish my coffee and take a dump. Lots of fish but not normal numbers of birds from what I have seen so far yesterday.

Finishing off the dump then will commence to packing. Going to put in a couple hours this morning then head to Reggio. Have to hook up the fricking sewer system but then we are going to catch some specs and get ready for tomorrow morn! Supposed to be some ducks down now. Pretty pumped

Yes, a lot of grays per my brother told me yesterday.
Now thinking of heading to Biloxi WMA in the morning. Only if I can get my crew together for a one day trip. 
With the wind farcast, my crew was going to Venice, but told them running down river will be very ruff for small boats. So, I still don't know there plans yet.

Flew over yesterday.

I don't think I am going to even bother with Reggio this year. There might be some birds on opening morning but once the shooting starts they will be gone because there isn't any food to keep them.

Im more excited about tomorrow than any hunt I've ever been on because i just found out my granpaw is coming. hes the one that first brought me duck hunting,hes been really sick lately so Im thinking this could be one of his last hunts so Saturday will be a day to remember for the rest of my life.

To say I am ready is an understatement.
I have been having a recurring dream the past few nights. 8 Mallards, 6 drakes and 2 hens to be exact. Get to the edge of the ring and someone hits them with a quick little 4 note call and they all swing into the sunlight green heads shining and come to sit right down in front of us. All of them die, even the hens.
8 more days.
