My brother has been to quite a few LSU/Bama games in Baton Rouge and is always impressed with the atmosphere but he said Saturday night was at an amazing level.

The further we get away from the loss on Saturday night, the more I come to realize that winning or losing that game really didn't matter all that much. I'm not saying it was a moral victory by any means, I'm saying that Saturday was more than a game. Nobody gave LSU a chance and we shut people up and the fans absolutely loved it. Everything good about LSU was on display, I don't see how any recruit wouldn't want to play here.

I went to the mucho-hyped "Game of the Century" last year in Tuscaloosa, and the crowd noise and game atmosphere didn't come close to last Saturday night in Baton Rouge.

I have been to almost all the biggest games in Tiger Stadium. This surpassed them all. When you measure start to finish, plus the environment outside the stadium it surpassed 07 Fla, 03 Ga, 97 Fla, even 79 USC. Unbelieveable. I was surprised that there were not as many bama fans as normal. We had way more in Tuscaloosa last year. Not sure why they didnt show.

I know what you mean. I doubted we'd get the chance to play in the NC game, and am amazed at how NOT pissed off I was after the game. I guess I take solace in Zach playing so well and the crowd being so into it, along with the whole nation seeing it. Next year we do it all! And recruits? We had a major haul of big-time recruits visiting Saturday--signing day just became that much better!

I said the same thing. Walking around all day, there were amazingly few crimson shirts. Many more Gamecocks came this year.

I agree. BDS is far better atmosphere wise when we have a mediocre to below average team or we're an underdog. 2003 Oklahoma, 2005 Florida, 2010 Auburn, etc. were all very loud BDS games where everything wasn't on the line. BDS were so uptight last Nov 5th that people were holding their breathe more than letting loose. I wish BDS would cut loose like Tiger Stadium does. We're only good for about 1 great atmosphere a year unfortunately. I admire how consistently well LSU fans bring it for big night games.

My guess is that most of the people who unloaded their tickets, sold them to fellow Tigers. As a result, the Gumps couldn't get their hands on many more than the 8,000 or so tickets LSU sent them. We had way more fans in Tuscaloosa last year, both inside and outside of the stadium.

I was listening to the radio as Van Pelt was stating this. You could hear the passion in his voice. He was digging for the right words to say to express how impressed he was. If you get chills reading this, then do yourself a favor and figure out a way to hear it. Truly riveting! God, I love LSU! We are truly unique and wonderful!!!

i was waiting to find out what he had to say. I know he loves him some LSU already, but that had to be a great cherry to pop to be there for THAT game as a first in TS.

I'll repeat the sentiments. How could any recruit experience that and want to go somewhere else?
