| Trai Turner's Role Helps with LF? (Posted on 11/4/12 at 6:13 pm)
Tried searching the board for any info on this: with the way turner excelled yesterday it seems like the starting spot will be his to lose. This has to be another positive for bringing in LF right?

LF is all LSU. He knows he will play early plus his dad and Frank are tight.

Definitely helps with LF. Having frank + trai + Jonah all with the lsu program should pay off IMO

You should be worried about Frank staying at LSU. He'll be a hot coach to approach for either a HC or OC job. I could see Tenn going after him hard because they already know what they get from him. And Tenn needs national recruiting prowess to survive and how better to do that than Wilson? Plus it would give them avenues into Louisiana and the hotbed of talent in New Orleans. Either way, I highly doubt Frank is at LSU by the end of next season. So, that can't help with LF, IMO.

No, I'm saying he could be offered as OC/RC depending on who they get as HC. Ole Miss tried to give him the OC job last year but he deflected it because it wouldn't be his offense anyway. Not sure he wanted to go in that mess either over in Ole Piss. It would take something attractive to remove him from LSU but you better believe he's going to be targeted a lot. Look at the talent he's rolling into LSU since he came here...we have arguably our most talented teams ever under Frank. We need to throw the bank at him and keep him here. Give him an OC/HC waiting title - something. He's going to be successful wherever he goes. He'll be targeted even more this upcoming coaching change because teams are going to want Louisiana's very top-heavy recruiting next year. Arguably one of the better ones in recent memory. All the more reason why Frank is important to keep at LSU...

Frank is set to make $600k this year so they are going to open the checkbook to get him. I would like to see him groomed to become miles successor.

I wouldn't doubt if Tenn did approach him for a HC job to be honest with you. They'll have to buy Dooley out and they'll probably go relatively cheap. Who better to do that than a young coach who has been successful everywhere he's been? He hasn't been a coordinator yet but I've seen less coaches become successful. Never know what you can get in a young upcoming coach. Cheap and his energy should invigorate the fanbase in recruiting if nothing at all.

I'd love to see Frank named OC after this year.

Not taking anything away from Coach Frank, but what has he done besides recruit and do running back drills thats warrants his promotion to future head coach at LSU?

Tennessee can't take a risk like that after Dooley.

No way in hell does UT call his number for the head coaching gig. I wouldn't be shocked to see him offered an OC job somewhere, though, especially at a place that has a HC with significant experience on that side of the ball.

I love Frank, but he is not going to be the next OC at UT. They could offer him the RC position, but he already has that at LSU, so that's a lateral move and thus unlikely.
