Options: make a Facebook group, start a petition, make a website, write a strongly worded letter, go to Miles' house and speak with him in person, BRAIN SURGERY.

you people have kept changing the subject

1. we ended the game conservatively, and it led to us losing the game. that's a stone cold fact

2. miles called some historically stupid plays last night that cost us in crucial situations. that's a stone cold fact

3. our typical gameplan under miles is SUPER conservative, which puts us well behind where we should be

So say lsu throws on 3rd and 8 and the pass is incomplete stopping the clock and the field goal is still missed, would you have started a thread blaming him for not running the ball and the clock in that situation? I'm guessing its a safe bet.

Hahaha. It means he has a pathetic defense.

no. our team (esp on the lines) is more talented than UO's team. plus we got some lucky ST plays

Again. You're hilarious. That's called "better coaching" by people who don't have an agenda.

he chose to burn clock

burning clock is fine, but calling plays not to lose (offense and defense) is stupid, and it bit us in the ass

hand it over to the defense

if you possess the ball you should NEVER give up and hand the ball to the opponent, giving the opponent a chance to score

So miles was calling the defensive plays and was out on the field allowing their receivers to be wide open on the last drive?

I agree that the fake field goal was a terrible play called at a terrible time. I didn't care much for the Warecat qb 'sneak' either, but I absolutely did want them to go for it there. Wanted them to stay aggressive. I think a better play call would have gotten us the 1st down; terrible choice.

Other than those 2 things, I think Miles called a damn good game. His other gambles didn't work out, but the aggressive nature of the calls was very refreshing to watch. The prevent D was on Chavis. They started marching down the field, and then Chavis decides to blitz and they knew what was coming and called the screen. He went from overly passive to overly aggressive. I don't blame Miles for that.

no

and there are more options than just say "throw it on 3rd and 8," because we could have done something creative and aggressive like...run it...in a creative way. not a toss up the gut bull shite play that we had run 100 times before

So Flo, I am on the same page as you more often than not...this particular thread seems to be a bit out of bounds...
On the calls in question, I am sure there is a "kill option" that wasn't utilize by the holder on the field...on th ware sneak, I was hoping for the option between ware and ford out of that personnel package...even with the sneak itself, running behind turner and cope land should be worth a yard...if it works it's a great play...remember, we were having running success all night which gave a bit of confidence to run a low risk play...just saying...

the only time we played "not to lose" is when Chavis decided to go prevent at the end

quote:

"hand it over" was a bad choice of words...but you know what i meant. I'm sure if a team could hold the ball for 50 minutes a game they would

but Oregon doesn't have a pathetic defense this year. they shut out Arizona

they're not dominating, but it's going to be tough for a state without talent to produce an elite offense and defense

TM7 making a lucky play isn't better coaching

having more available local OL/DL talent has nothing to do with coaching. that's geography and societal history

re: There has to be a way to get Miles to stop coaching scared

I dunno, was it smart when Saban had a WR throw the ball last year? Or when he decided to fake a punt on 4th & 23 from his own 20 in the 2009 NC game? Was it stupid when Les decided to run his TE on 4th down a few years ago? Every coach has good and bad gambles. Sometimes the bad calls work and sometimes the good calls fail. I think Les has more good calls than bad.

The only game I thought he coached scared was the Auburn game. And he only did that after Mett took points off the board for us on 1 play and then put points on the board for Auburn on another. look at the A&M game. They contentiously put the ball in Mett's hands. Even after it was established he was having an off day and we could probably run the ball, milk the clock and win.

Makes no difference when their backups are playing better than they were.

Turner > wiliford

Hill is just as good as blue
I'll give you Faulk
Not counting TM because he didnt play a snap all yr, would've probably flunked a drug test and been suspended anyway
Who else makes up the 10 you speak of?

Keep making up the rules as you go. It helps you "win". You must have been a ball to play Monopoly with as a kid. "No you have to give me $200 when I go to jail. It's the rules".

We threw the ball four times. Twice on 2nd down. Our last set of downs was conservative. But I think going conservative on 3rd down and trying to get an easier FG was the right call.

I understand Miles playing for the clock at the end, but in that situation it was too conservative and did not follow the information the game had already provided. Mett was playing superbly, give him a chance to make a play. Additionally, Bama had proven it was more than capable of scoring quickly at the end of the half. Miles missed a chance to analyze the reality of the game and make an informed decision. He chose instead to play "percentages" that while relevant to a point, did not follow the flow of the game. It was too conservative and didn't take everything into account.

That's cause you've blown your own mind with all your "lucky plays" "better in state talent" crap. I don't even think you really believe it all. You just like to read your own posts. I'll give you this though. You are amusing.

I loved the everything about the onside kick except it not working & if not for an unlucky bounce it does work.

Bama's defense was gassed at that point. With the offense getting the ball near midfield would have almost certainly produced at least 3 points.
