Other teams and markets have to deal with football season as well so please don't say it's because of the Saints or LSU games this weekend. Here are some hard facts with the attendance of other teams so far this year:

The Hornets just drafted a once in an exciting once in a lifetime player #1 with Davis, have a new LEGIT owner that has extreme ties with the city and community,have on average the lowest ticket prices in the league, lowered concession prices, etc etc yet they can't even get close to a sellout on the first week of playing. It's going to be funny when the only games that sellout are when Miami, New York, LA, etc or if the team overachieves and the bandwagon fans jump aboard. This has been an ongoing problem with the team for years yet people still blame it on the same excuses.... why not accept the fact that maybe it's the fans and not the product being put on the court? Still love my Hornets and wish them the best, but it's got to be hard for the players to see half empty arenas ALL the time except when big market teams come to town. It's a disgrace when teams like Toronto and Charlotte can sell out, but the Hornets can't even get to 17,000.

Attendance has NOT been improving over the past years:
2012-Thus Far: 14,752
2011-12: 15,109
2010-11: 14,709
2009-10: 15,130
2008-09: 16,968
2007-08: 14,181 (best season in Hornets history and first back in the city since Katrina)

I agree that the attendance is an issue. Opening night was pretty pathetic, especially in the lower bowl.
I'll wait till later in the season to really see how poor it is, but I don't accept the excuses others do.

You obsessed with this shite and it's pissing everyone else off. There's nothing us on this message board can do about it other than going to the games ourselves and its only just close to 40 of us on here. You need to give this a rest, oh and its only been 2 games, and it'll only be so many games the next time you bring this horse shite up. As long as its not lower than 12k I'm completely fine with the attendance. I'd like to know why people are following atrendance. I follow it, but I know why I do.
I'm pleased with it so far, but think it will drop to meet expectations.
