I wonder if they are going to revamp the ranking system at all. It seemed to take forever to rank up in Reach, to the point where I just stopped caring.

This says the ranking system will be COD-esque
Read about halfway down that article and he talks about MP. I don't know if I like that or not. I wish it would just go back to halo2/3 ranking.

I want to be optimistic about the IGN review but the game is currently sitting at a 91 on metacritic.
Also after watching a few other reviews from well known sites, I am almost convinced that IGN was bribed.

Meh, I liked reach personally, but thats an opinion of course, and I hope they don't go too far from the originals because I loved the originals.
In the end, whether their really different or not, lets all just hope its a damn good game and we all win.

Even if this Halo wasn't coming out I would HIGHLY recommend playing the others, and get the new original Halo: Combat Evolved-Anniversary Edition. They improved the story, the graphics and its a higher quality game, not to say the first one wasn't, but clearly the new one is made better.

The story is the best part of Halo IMO. I'm looking forward to the cut scenes as much as anything. Read some of the Halo wiki's to catch up.

I don't think he'll "have" to play the first 4 to catch up. Supposedly this is going to have a new story line, at least that's what I'm getting from their "its a start of a new trilogy" slogan they're using

From the many videos I have watched, the story line is not new. It has some major new additions, but the main premise seems to rely heavily on past story lines, or at least characters established in past games. MC obviously, but Cortana as well.
