I played ACII, do I need to play Revelations and Brotherhood or were those just "spin offs" and didnt really advance the storyline?

I need an answer to this too. I liked the first two but I played revelations and despised it

You could probably just Wiki the story. I'd say they advanced the Desmond storyline more than anything else. Shows how he got from the end of II to where they will go in III.

Cool. Thanks. Was hoping for that as there are a few older games I still need to play and didn't need to add more to the list.

re: Assassins Creed 3

For those of you who are interested in catching up with all story details from ACI, ACII, ACII Brotherhood, and Revelations, game spot put together several videos that have all the cut scenes for each game. Each game is divided into 5 videos. It's almost like watching a tv min-series since each episode is about 30 minutes long.

I've been watching these since yesterday to prepare for 3 since I didn't play Brotherhood or Revelations and I wanted to remember some key details from the first 2.

LINK

The above link is set for episode one of ACI, but you can find the set of videos you want by looking on the right menu. Just click the picture of the video you want.

re: Assassins Creed 3

I beat AC1 and AC2 all the way, made it through about 30% of Brotherhood and quit, didn't touch Revelations.

Good enough to play 3. Might watch a few of those vids on Brotherhood's end and Revelations but I heard Revelations really has nothing to do with it and was awful.

I haven't played anything but sports games since Uncharted 3
And Arkham City. Gonna try this one out. Better than playing NCAA or madden everyday.

re: Assassins Creed 3

Does anyone know if I can download it from XboxLive or PS3? I don't want the disc, but just the game? I don't mind the long download or paying full price.
I just want it without having to go to a store and get it.

Preorder from Amazon.

ETA: I actually think you can download it off PSN now.

8.5 at IGN

Watching the video footage from the review really makes me want to grab this game this evening.

I'm going to try and wait for it to go down in price before I pick it up though.

You should be able to download it off of PSN.

I believe all the new titles are available digitally.

I got NCAA 13, NHL 13, and Dishonored on release day digitally off the store.

I'm with you. This really doesn't feel like any other AC game right now (mostly due to the completely different type of environment). Also, it is fricking great getting to tackle British troops into corn fields, and hide the body. Very satisfying.
