Ayone invest in gold and silver via Goldline? (Posted on 10/24/12 at 5:15 pm)
I'm thinking of rolling over my IRA to gold and silver with Goldline. I already have a target date retirement plan at work so I'm thinking at my age (late 20's) it would be a good thing to invest in gold & silver via Goldline AND the market via a target date fund.
Would this be a mistake or a good idea? I'm very, very good at managing my money and I want to save/invest as much as possible until retirement but I'm not very versed with things such as the stock market and precious metals.

I'm pretty new to the MT board so I can't say for sure, but I'm fairly confident that the Iraqi Dinar might offer the type of exposure you're looking for

They're what I believe to be a reputable company. Do y'all know something I don't? It just seems natural that gold and silver will continue to rise for a very long time.

Will it?
To take an extreme example [of price volatility], while a dollar invested in bonds in 1801 would be worth nearly a thousand dollars by 1998, a dollar invested in stocks that same year would be worth more than half a million dollars. All this is in real terms, taking inflation into account. Meanwhile, a dollar invested in gold in 1801 would by 1998 be worth just 78 cents.
