Sorry, can't do that. I've got to expose Aubrey for what he is (which is trash).
This album is very good. I'd go 8 or 9 out of 10. Best hip hop album of the last 15 to 20 years is a bit much though. A lot of great albums have come out in the past 15 to 20 years (including my personal favorite Aquemini). I could get behind best of the past 5 years though. There's been a dearth of great hip hop albums over the past few years IMO.

Goes to show how much rap/pop runs music these days.
Bring back rock and blues... anyone like that anymore? Singing? Instruments?
I can appreciate rap, I think there are some talented people in it, but it's sad that rap threads get so much attention while a Jack White or Gary Clark Jr. would get maybe 2 pages.

this is how i feel after a few listens. its a great album, but im not really sure i'd call it a classic at this point or generational. seems a bit over board a week after it came out.

...among others. I don't think it's in that top tier (or top 2 tiers however you want to dice it up). It's as good or better than anything that has come out recently though. We'll see how history remembers it, I suppose.

I agree with friend of obudan. To say it's the best in the last 15 years is crazy talk. I think the talk should start with it being the best album this year first.

It's the best album in recent memory, certainly the best this year. Time will tell where it stacks up all-time, but like I said, it just gives me the feeling that I'm listening to something important. iTunes tells me that I've listened to it 7 times already. To put that in perspective, The College Dropout and Carter I are the 2 rap albums I've listened to the most in my iTunes. I've listened to them 16 and 13 times, respectively, and they've been in my iTunes for years. I absolutely hate listening to albums over and over, it's one of my pet peeves actually. Yet I literally cannot stop playing this one.

I can see how people would I guess. They just get old for me if I listen to them a lot. There are only a handful of musicians/albums that I can listen to on repeat.

Track 6 — I think this track represents Kendrick’s thoughts on his way over to Sherane’s house, which is why it ends so abruptly and changes in tone as it heads into the skit
Skit at the end of Track 6 — Kendrick gets jumped by the two guys in hoodies for being in their hood
Tracks 7 & 8 are covering his thoughts on getting jumped
Track 9 — Goes back to the homies and they get messed up
Skit/Track 10 — They go back to shoot the guys that jumped Kendrick, but one of the homies ends up getting killed
Track 11 — Kendrick regrets getting dragged down by the m.A.A.d city and vows to get out of it and inspire others to do the same
Track 12 — This is Kendrick achieving his goal and is set in the present IMO Skit — “I’ll be back in 15 minutes” — a throwback to the very start of the album — having seen how things unfold it adds extra power to this
