re: Tom Brady has thrown a TD in 36 consecutive games

I think Brees would have to get to 70 games to have it surpass Unitas' accomplishment. If Brady beats Unitas' record by the end of this year, then it is significantly cheapened.

Also, while the defensive players have gotten bigger, stronger, faster, so have the offensive players. Unitas never had a Calvin Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald or Andre Johnson to throw to.

To me, this is stupid. There's no one else even close to the record (a full season away at least I believe behind brady?) so why is it "cheapened" instead of calling it what it is, two QBs doing something with amazing consistency at the same time. If there were 8 QBs on pace to break it by next year, then maybe. But I think the stat 2 weeks ago was the bottom 28 QBs added up didn't even equal the streak.

I don't see either not throwing a TD, even with an off game, in the near future. But you never know. Look at the IND game this weekend, 2 TDs for Luck but both were rushing cause the defense sold out on the pass in the red zone. Something like that, or a running game getting going (NE does play BUF...) could easily end the streak before it gets anywhere near this high.
