dude already made the plea deal to get life instead of the death penalty for the two murders—if they bring additional charges, could they decide to give him the ax?

I bet there's a half dozen at least, when it's all said and done.

I'm betting there is probably some stupid stipulation in the laws that say he would have to serve his first sentence out. On an unrelated note, did you happen to notice some of the "related article" links...."Man gets cooked to death at tuna plant"??!!

My guess would be yes. Seems that the DP was taken off the table for only those two cases...but who knows.

Found the DL of a woman who disappeared in April? Damn that guy was on a tear. Yeah - If they try him in Texas - You can forget life without parole. He's a dead man.

It was my understanding that the sentencing was for the state of Louisiana. If Texas tries him and finds him guilty, they can fry his ass. Correct me if I'm wrong

they would probably go after death penalty in that case because even if he ends up being found "not guilty" he would still be in jail for the rest of his life anyway...DA could be more aggressive I don't know how the law works in these cases

And I bet(and hope) if Texas were successful, somebody in power would find some little loophole to allow Texas to have him.

I'm also no expert but I would think that they would have to find some sort of evidence that the crime was committed in Texas for him to be tried in Texas.

Like... the woman disappeared from Texas? Pretty sure that would count.

I thought that was the whole reason they accepted a deal on the Schunick case. They've expected to extradite him to Texas the whole time I believe. There won't be much "burden of proof" necessary in Texas. That you can be sure of.

I would imagine that LA would extradite for a chance at him getting the juice in TX......even if he doesn't get the juice he is either in prison for the rest of his life in TX or LA one or the other. ETA

I'd have to agree with this for him to get the DP.....although the presence of 2 bodies attributed to him in LA may be enough to sway the jury even without the body. I'm far from a lawyer though.....but I did watch Law and Order: SVU last night

not necessarily. A crime scene would do; however, it has likely been too long to find that.
