Can you explain the purpose of the alcohol-free zone and tell me if it includes the Zone Club or the suites in Kyle Field? The alcohol-free zone is meant to prevent the presence of open containers in the areas immediately surrounding Kyle Field, most notably the Fan Zone and the sidewalks. We have increasing interest in the team and pregame activities and want to keep these areas as "family friendly" as possible. Please note this does not affect those areas that have previously been approved for serving alcohol, such as the Zone Club, the Letterman's Lounge, and the leased suites in Kyle Field.
Those alcohol free zones are not tailgating areas, they have various bounce houses, radio show, food booths etc.

Can, as long as you stay out of that area in the picture. The only tailgating anywhere close to that is Spence Park, the rest of the tailgating is across the railroad tracks by Reed Arena.

It's not even enforced really... I walk up in there all the time with booze. I just think they don't want anyone posted up next to the kids area with booze, which really isn't a problem since there is no parking or tailgating around there. IT's a wet campus so no worries.

College Station, the town, is fun. You'll love Northgate (30 bars right by campus). I didn't choose A&M based off the yell leaders and I don't know many who would. You'll find that we tailgate hard and party hard just like you crazy fricks do, and you'll enjoy our company on Saturday. I have two LSU tailgating krewes setting up with us.

I've been around a lot of aggies being in Houston, and they are definitely a strange bunch. I can usually spot the aggies in the group before I even notice their ring. That being said, they are extremely friendly in general, and while I've never tailgated in CS, by all accounts that friendly demeanor is on full display on saturdays in the fall. Looking forward to this weekend.

Don't forget to walk on the grass around the Student Union. Longstanding cadet tradition called "Grass Walk."

Can anyone give suggestions on where to tailgate? I'm going with a few people and we want to know where to set up. Thanks in advance.

Be prepared... Kyle Field smells like shite. And I'm not kidding... it literally smells like shite.

Yeah, it was. I was in the pep band for that game. We were right at field level. We had our share of comments for the Yell Leader right in front of us. He never cracked, though. I have to give him that. Anyone who has ever taken notice of TGBFTL knows that we NEVER take off our jackets like other bands do. I've always like that practice, because those stupid overall pants unis look like crap on TV. Wish they could have made an exception that day, though. It was freakin brutal, but the grad arse in charge was under strict orders- no removing jackets whatsoever. I don't remember anyone passing out, but it was a long, quiet bus ride home.
