I can see why we'd be interested.

Seriously though, I'm almost sure that the winter window will bring one more RB because of Dodo's injury issues and maybe a CB as well though we do have already two young prodigies as back ups (with Marquinhos seemingly moving ahead of Burdisso recently).

Sebastian Jung from Eintracht Frankfurt seems the RB we're after the hardest. The player/agent keep saying they'd welcome the move but so far the club hasn't agreed to sell him.

I didn't realized Djourou had played much at RB. After what you write I hope that's not Roma's plan.

Whats your opinion of Milan and Pato? i know he's had a string of muscle injuries, but it seems like it's time for him to move on... I know some of the fan base has given up on him... He has the physical tools to be one of the world's best imo...

The injuries have certainly derailed him a ton as he's just never had a stretch of playing many games. Kind of makes it hard to get a gauge on exactly how good he can still be if he says healthy but Milan's higher ups seem to agree with you. (I do as well).

I think Milan wanted to move him for the right price though this year but he really wants to stay at Milan specifically and in Italy in general. He has shut down every proposed deal, even to PSG with Allegri there, with whom he got along well.

Though pretty certain he wouldn't consider a move there now as he's been one of the more vocal players saying how much better the clubhouse is without Ibra.

His contract is through 2014.

On a side note: it will interesting to see if anything happens with the overload of malcontents at PSG. Seems that Lavezzi isn't happy at all getting so little PT and Lucas' arrival seems to put some question marks around Pastore's future. . .

(Lavezzi's pride may be hurt as well by how well Insigne's stepped into his spot at Napoli with them looking better than ever. )

Doubtful but not absolutely shocking to see a loan deal involving one of their bigger names leaving with a eye to team chemistry?

He played a handful of matches there last year when we had injury problems. It was bad.

Depending on the price, I don't think it would be a terrible buy for you. Still young.

Never really rated Lavezzi. He always seemed like a worse version of Walcott.

If Pastore hit the market...wow. Arsene has always rated him.

We probably disagree on this. I'd rate Lavezzi better than Walcott. On his night he really has an ability to simply beat anyone and everyone off his dribble, packs a lethal shot from around the area (tho Walcott may as well) and really had a eye for some remarkable passes in Napoli's set up.

Lavezzi's main problem to me seems more that he's way too hot headed/emotional. He gets easily frustrated and goes on a "i'll beat them all by myself" crusade too often. Selfish, not in the sense of shooting instead of a killer pass, but that the attack has to go through him.

I can imagine he an Ibra getting along like a hooker and a housewife.

Pastore is one of the smoothest players in the game if not the smoothest. He doesn't always exert the control over matches that he should. He'd probably flourish with Arsene.

I see your comparison and for the price Lavezzi was sold for, you'd expect more goals out of him... but he's never really scored a lot...

I wish I could see more of Pastore play, his highlight clips are amazing... PSG will probably go through a MCFC period, in regards to spending big and often, early on... then thinning the herd to get what Ancelotti wants..

They are slightly different considering Lavezzi has much better dribbling skills, but they both seem to have similar output and strengths. They are both at their best counterattacking. Lavezzi may be better, I haven't watched near as much of him as I have of Theo, but he always seems to waste great chances that his speed and dribbling ability open up for him.

I completely agree about the wasted chances. I've actually seen more of him than Walcott and that comparison certainly holds. He's not a clinical finisher, to say the least.

However, Lavezzi just seems to have a level of dynamism in terms of dribbling and brilliant passes that I've not seen as much from Walcott when I've watched.

Yeah, Walcott doesn't have much in the way of dribbling skills. In fact, his dribbling skills are so poor I can remember his best move ever: LINK

Both of those guys should be banging in 15+ goals a year IMO. I think Walcott is closer to doing that (he may even this year, considering he's off to a hot start). I guess that's why I said he was better (and I'm a biased Arsenal fan, even if Arsenal fans by in large underrate his impact). 4 years younger and they've had pretty much the same production in terms of goals and assists over the past few years.

Would be interesting if PSG put those two on the market. I'd have done terrible things for Pastore a year ago, but with Cazorla enjoying so much success through the middle, he probably wouldn't be worth the outlay.

Little Santi Cazorla has been one my favorite players for a while. I watched Villarreal religiously during their run with him. I was glad to see him go to Arsenal and he's probably a much safer bet for consistent production than Pastore.

However, Pastore's play teases a longing for pure aesthetic pleasure in a way that no other current, younger player quite does for me.
Fleeting moments so far but approaching Romantic sublimity when they arrive.

As a Roma fan, I'd agree with wanting him at any cost. It'd even be fine to finish mid table as long as I could watch a bit of magic between he and Totti each week.

A man after my own heart! Maybe it's a side-effect of being an Arsenal fan, but I much prefer my team to be aesthetically pleasing rather than win-at-all costs. I've taken flak from my LSU friends for hating Muschamp, even as he's had success this season. Saban and Saban-esque teams bore me to death.

If Wenger decided to get Pastore, I'd probably fap myself to death the first time Cazorla, Wilshere, Arteta, and Pastore were on the pitch together. Might be for the best we don't get him.

I don't think there's room for all 4 on the pitch at once, would be nice to have diaby, pastore, Ramsey and rosicky as backups though

Cazorla has played out wide his whole career. Could easily fit everyone out there!
