Agreed about the family thing, I used to always say the only way I'd explicitly hit a bitch is if she was attacking my sisters therefore I'd apply that logic to extend to my mother, SO, Kids and other important family members (mainly female family members that is, unless it's a severe beating being doled out by the female in question to a male family member). Self-defense to an extent enough to get into safety. and that's about it...
ETA: by severe I mean on the brink of hospitalizing or killing in regards to male family members, unless of course it was a younger son (i.e. 10 years or under) and the female carrying out the assault was grown arse woman.
