How does Obama go on the offensive in foreign policy? He can try and tout his accomplishments, but as far as attacking Romney, the governor doesn't have a foreign policy record to actually attack.

Exactly. It will not be Obama but Romney that goes on the 'attack'. Not an angry attack, but just like the first debate...merely FRAMING Obama's FP failure in that enthusiastic Romney manner.

To answer the OP: No. This debate showed their hand. They'll control the debate with the questions/moderator, interrupt Romney and speak over him trying to fluster him, ask him loaded questions, and frame the debate like ROMNEY is the incumbent.

First, it's a stupid 'town hall' format where Politico gets to pick the questions (gmafb)

I doubt that any format could bridle either candidate from expressing their opinion on must any subject. All policy is interrelated; Romney can do what Biden did re the 47%...just go off on a tear. Damn Politico's 'questions'. No way they shut him down; Romney aint no wuss. He'd call em on it in front of the whole nation...and get a ton of support as a strong leader. The next one will be better than the first!

The town hall debate format sucks. I hate the dumbass audience members and their forced questions.

Townhall doesn't play as well for Romney. But if he does nail one more debate, this thing may be done.
I hate town halls. Ever since Clinton bounced up out of his chair the candidates do this over the top crap to relate to the undecided turds in the audience. I have an idea for a new debate format. Interrogation style. Put them in separate rooms with bright lights blasting in their eyes while fast firing questions at them. Let hannity do the dem and matthews do the rep.

I'm not expecting much from the Town Hall format. If Romney can just maintain the momentum from the first deate and then nail Obama again in round 3,then Barry will be history.
