Voice search is not a digital assistant. Also, you could do voice search on an iPhone just like in Android with the Google app.

S3 still does not officially have Jellybean, 4 months into the phone's release. in 5 months or so the S4 will be out. Sad
I'm starting to hear rumblings that Google is going to try and remedy this with something in 4.1.2.....I've read they are going to try and put a pure AOSP version of Android out that each device can run in an Update Center of sorts. Then the particular device manufacturer can later release a version of Android with their custom skin/OS/whatever you want to call it. I get the impression that Google intends for the user to be able to run the AOSP (if you will) version as soon as it drops from Google to their device. This has been a point of contention for some companies in the past and you will still deal with carrier delays, but at least they are trying to address the issue.

Some people just don't get you .....although TigerGMan has pretty much ruined the relevancy of the Apple contingent on this board for most people

This is being discussed for 4.2, not 4.1.2 which I am running on my Nexus 7. There is no option for this in 4.1.2. Also, it will only be an option for a manufacturer, not a mandate. More manufacturers are going to have to adopt onscreen virtual buttons for this to even be a possibility. I have seen no virtual buttons in any leaked devices except for the LG Optimus Nexus.

Right...sometimes what I'm thinking and what I'm typing are 2 different things.

I'm not sure why they aren't.

I haven't seen any physical buttons in the 2 pictures I've seen.....also it wouldn't make sense to go backwards for a Nexus device.

This would mean that the Samsung Galaxy line (sans Nexus) would have to drop their Apple inspired home button. Gasp!

I was a little shocked that the GS3 had one....even more shocked when I see the GN2 home button with the Verizon logo blazoned across it. That is about the only thing keeping me from pulling the trigger on an off contract GN2 when it releases on Big Red.
