kash, you need to come to missoula. famous bar within walking distance to my house where cute bartenders will pour you a double tall (in a pint glass, and it's more like at least a triple) of good brands for $4.00. and that's all day, every day. James Lee Burke based a lot of his characters on its regulars. They actually serve something resembling Louisiana food, too.

I know a lot of people that swear on Maker's. I've always liked Woodford's reserve, and Crown.

It's certainly equivalent to Jack or Jameson, though.

Two bars in central. Back of our place restaurant is a hole in the wall bar. 1.50 longnecks ice cold. New sports bar extra innings has 1.00 draft in frozen mugs, including blue moon. ivars wants six bucks for same beer.

i agree. the story is, Maker's was bottom of the barrel junk and then they started a campaign to turn it into premium. This included a new recipe and red cap. well, if you'll pardon the expression, all that happened was the cap. could be fiction. dunno.

I have a friend in Rural Washington state. They all have Bars in their houses. I mean full bars with a bar and bar stools. They congregate at each others house. Also, you can brew beer about 10 times better than what you can buy for a bout 10 cents a bottle. It's easy too.

where's the cheapest bar? i mean the bar run on the bare minimum, basically the hobby bar. Instead of dropping a few grand a year drinking, guy makes his own place to go to that people can drink nightly for next to nothing. Would you go to a place where the furnishings were all just shite from garage sales/goodwill, 3-4 kegerators with Natural lite, milwalkee best, pabst blue, Franzia Zinfindel, well vodka/bourbon/rum?
the blacks and trash would over run that shite in a heart beat.

I've heard the same thing about Crown Royal. Personally, I like Makers for sipping. Jim Beam for everything else.

In Baton Rouge...TJ Rib's (at least the one on siegen) usually has has PBR for a dollar on draft, high life is $1.50 (this was last year, might have gone up). Thirsty Tiger on Coursey has high life and PBR bottles for a buck, all the time.

No doubt about it. On a related note... Not sure how long this has been happening, but at Kona Grill they add the tip to every check...wasn't a large party, just two of us having drinks.
