Title is misleading.
It should read "Gay man lives a lie as a straight man" or "Gay man finally comes out of the closet"

I just read the entire article. His reasons for writing the book seem illogical. It seems to boil down to he saw a lesbian cry and he thought he needed to pretend to be gay in order to empathize with her. Ok.
While I agree that the churches treatment of gay people has been shameful at times, he seems like he's ignoring scripture and changing his beliefs on feelings.
