Looking to root the S3 and was wondering what the best ROM and Kernel combo is? Anything else I need to know??

I still never updated the touchpad to Android.

I am running CM10 with the kernel it comes with. If you go with it, you should probably use the latest monthly build. I am running one of the nightlies and it's a little flaky. Of course they might all be flaky until they mature a bit.

Also, I'm not sure if there is an easy root yet. I used Odin to flash a pre-rooted stock image.

It's really easy. There are videos that explain it step by step. It makes it a high powered current tablet with Android.

If I remember correctly, I had to update CWM before CM10 would flash. Again, things might be different now, but just a hint if you run into trouble.

This should be obvious to everyone and I say that as an iPhone owner. The speed of google now, the human sounding voice, and the traffic on the route to my house and office easily put google now above siri. Not to mention all the other things google now does.

I have to admit, I loved making my pics using the latest betting lines on every game in my office pool's lineup at the red-lights in traffic Wednesday on the way to work. Just called out to Siri, "Whose favored in the game between LSU & South Carolina football game this weekend," and she popped it up and actually answered back with the latest line. Just went back into Numbers, made my picks, & then saved & e-mailed in .xls to the guy running our pick'em contest.
**Of course none of this was done while actually driving down the Highway**
I'm just fine with Apple & iOS. Just fine. Though I've had some experience with Android on a Tablet and its a nice experience as well.
To each their own.
