park money short term?

I plan to start looking for my 1st house in the next 1 to 1.5 years. Just had a child so i want to wait to see what my wife's job situation is going to be. I have 30k saved so far, no debt. It's actually in a savings account, I know stupid. So where should I park this?

Not really.

A short duration (less than 2 years) investment grade corporate bond fund, if you want to juice your yield a little bit.

Some times you can find a checking account at a small bank that will give you a couple hundred bps on a small amount, such as what you have.

As Flask said for money you may need soon, a savings account isn't stupid. It might not be optimal but its risks free. If you don't want to loose principle it's hard to get any appreciation.

Are you willing to take risks? If not Everbank offers foreign currency dominated CD's. I'd look there

You're already losing your edge. Go back to finance.

There are plenty of easy entry/exit high yield savings accounts at non-brick and mortar Banks that are paying anywhere from 90 to 120 basis points.

Not a bad option if you want a quick entry/exit with a relative zero risk of loss, however in no way will you maximize your short term earnings potential.
