re: Guys and Yoga

It isn't gay at all and will give you strength in ways you never imagined...as long as you choose an intense enough routine.

I do it regularly. I've been a longtime back pain sufferer it helps a ton. Its very good for you and will increase your range of motion. Golf game improves, every day life better. And the scenery will undoubtably be nice. Go for it,I bet you can't hold most positions at first.

re: Guys and Yoga
its man's work if you get past the stuff you see at your gym.

the gym is actually a good place to get the basics of hatha yoga for free.

there are 16 branches of yoga. most of them are esoteric, and not at all about stretching your tendons.

learn hatha yoga, sure enough, but also learn some of the other branches.
pranayama is a whole study in itself and well worth it.

You'll meet lots of fit women.

I could possibly find this attractive if you are there to do yoga and not to creep.

I did it for a few weeks. It made me fart a lot and needless to say I didn't smash any chicks in the class.

re: Guys and Yoga
I just started yoga a few weeks ago and it is harder than I thought it would be. There is one guy in the class and the instructor is also a guy. I gave him an eyefull last week when I made the mistake of wearing a vneck tshirt and vneck sports bra.

I've got some back injuries (disc related) and was recently recommended that I give yoga a try to work on core strengthening and flexibility. However, I'm just concerned about some of the movements being more stressful on the back. When you started, did you start with individual lessons/classes and did the instructor work with you to modify the program/stretches/poses so as to not do certain movements that would further hurt the back?

I started becuase of back problems too. Start with light classes- diving into someting too intense will aggravate your injury. Gradually transition and starting taking more individualized classes

Who cares?

It's physical activity and half of these jokers don't leave their couch. Do what makes you happy.
