Ditto. Actually I can see both sides. This is a divisive topic.

I know whay they do it, so I guess saying I don't get it was incorrect. It is just somehting I couldn't see myself ever doing. But I don't need that much comfort and reassurance in my life.

Thank God this was done when it was. Had that happened today, his dad would have been a bully and a murderer and would have spent his life in prison.

Purity of intention is a fictitious notion. Constant "You should only do X for Y reason" arguments are tedious, and they come up everywhere. If it's an issue of hypocrisy, as in a person can act in obvious self-interest as long as he admits his motive, then I question how many humans are actually clear on their own intentions. I find my own muddled sometimes - I was urged to post in this thread for some self-serving reason, naturally, but I can't be sure of how exactly it serves me. So I would be careful about assuming that people are always calculating. Directly crying out for attention and attempting to help others both serve the ego, so it's not always apparent even to ourselves which one we are trying to accomplish. Chicken nuggets.

I remember that story like it was yesterday. Jody, you're dad had the balls to do what every man in his situation would like to do. I've never been prouder to be from Louisiana as the day we all found out that you dad wasn't going to jail for that.

This will be my last post in this thread. Look at the time I started it...I went to bed that is why I walked away. Also, the only reason I posted here in the first place was to correct some misinformation. And the last time I posted was in regards to the Sandusky case.

He seems to be more proud of the "celebrity" status of it all, rather than the good intentions. I'm not saying he's stemming from bad intentions, but the few times I've seen him on this board, it's bee incredibly weird.
Wouldn't I be posting more often if this was true? Anyway...everyone I know has kids in their life they want to protect, so when an opportunity arises that I can raise awareness...I take advantage of it. Too many victims sit in silence.
