The first episode was probably the funniest non-Parks and Recreation episode of any type on television in a long time.

Modern Family always has 3 story lines for each branch of the family, most of last season they'd hit on 2/3 most of the time. This was the first time in a while that all 3 story lines were funny.

Modern Family was at it's best last night, both episodes were outstanding. The gay/lesbian thing was hilarious. They pretty much hit on every stereotype imaginable.
