he's told it quite a few times on here .. he doesn't seem to want us to forget .. It's the first time I've heard it, so there's that.

if he didn't want to call attention to himself and the situation, first and foremost, why choose your actual name as your screen name ?

Very valid point. We enjoy the fact that nobody knows us. He seems to want people to know. And that's his personal choice I guess.

Yes, I like him better.

Okay, read it as "coco and rag's point" if that makes you feel better.

that was my question from day one .. cokes is dead on accurate too about the tone of a lot of posts he made about it .. once again, no one is saying he is wrong, a bad person, anything like that .. just that he has kind of gone about this on here in an interesting manner ..

Whoa.

Change your thread title and mention its about you and you'll get more readers.

I'm terribly sorry but you seem to have made the best of it. My brother used to speed skate when he was a kid, and the coach of that team would take them on trips and two of the kidson his team ended up being two victims of child molestation. Can't remember the jail time he got though. I do know non of their parents were as ballsy as yours. That's a wild story.

yeah, first of all, with this being a baton rouge based board and it STILL being a high profile news story here almost 25 years later when he joined, it is interesting that he used his IRL first and last name as his screen name here .. in fact, a number of people asked him if he was THE jody plauche almost right away .. if that isn't calling attention to yourself on here .. what else is ? there's your interesting manner .. like cocomo said, he's oddly embracing the "celebrity" of it ..

I had some classes with one of your female cousins. She told me your story one day in an Astronomy class in 1985 and it has stuck with me my whole life, I'm 45 now.
When the Sandusky thing broke, I was discussing what any of my 3 boys should do if something like that would ever happen to them and I told them your story. I don't remember any time when I had their attention like that day.
My point...bad things happen to people and it affects others positively without them ever knowing it. Your life has affected the life of me and my family and I applaude you for your courage.
To close, don't blame your dad - he did what all of us wish we would have the courage to do in the same situation.
God's speed son.

A lot of people have signed up with part of their name in their screen names.....

This si the "A Time to Kill" question. Was he doing it for you or was he doing it for his own personal revenge?

WTF? Exploiting? Profit?

You guys that are questioning his motives are some ignorant jackasses.

It seems to me that this singular and notorious event clearly changed his life forever in multiple ways. He's the one living it.

It's a great and brave thing that he he is sharing his story to better educate people about child sexual abuse, and how to deal with it. I have to deal with sex offenders all the time in my work, and I can tell you with total honesty that Jody's perspective was very enlightening to me. What now seems obvious is actually counterintuitive - that to over dramatize and catastrophize sexual abuse in talking to your kids can actually do them more harm than good.

Thanks, Jody! Don't stop sharing your story. You're doing great work.

And I'm with the majority that is prepared to give the guy a pass for some awkward posts about a topic that hits way too close to home for him.

Some of you guys are real cynical fricks.

Again, I understand your sentiment....but seriously, you weren't around when he's posted before. It's simply not:
