I use to get so many random hookups off myspace back in it's prime without even trying, but for whatever reason facebook just isn't the same and I'm all out of scoring online.

I'd be scared to date online. I'd need a personal reference. Someone to vouch for the person, not some bogus questionnaire. Just my opinion. I'm sure there are somewhat decent people on there but I'd try networking through friends before jumping to that.

when did meeting people online become not frowned upon? 
The only way i think it could be considered acceptable is if you just moved to a new area and don't know anyone.

The ones I encountered at the time were normal in everday life. Classmates, friends girlfriends, people I wasn't interested in pursuing.

I have a friend that's used it several times and she'll date these guys for a few months then suddenly some skeleton emerges from the closet! Every person I've ever dated has shared a mutual friend. I couldn't date a complete random stranger...especially from the Internet:/

It's not like you just go through reading questionnaires, pick the one you like, then meet that person. I only ever met my wife, but I talked to several through e-mails, texts, and phone calls. I was not going to meet someone till I felt comfortable that we could possibly have a connection.

Met my current GF on ourtime.com (senior people website). We met for lunch on our first date - she wouldn't even tell me her last name until the end of our second date. (btw, she gives the best BJs I've ever had)
I did meet several nut cases - one was particularly bad; I was worried that she was going to stalk me after I informed her I was entering a relationship.
