Boston - Hitch A Ride
I know Tom liked to frick around with the sounds and he played all the guitar parts on the first album (except the last song, Let Me Take You Home Tonight).
Anyway, I don't know if the studio version can be considered a true "solo" as it sounds like he played multiple guitars and mixed them together.......but if you don't nitpick it sounds amazing......definitely one of my favorites. (Although I agree with MANY of the songs already posted).

There are thousands of songs to choose from; here are two obscure ones: 1. Tony T.S. McPhee/The Groundhogs (100-to-1 no one here has heard or knows of the Hogs—you're missing out)/"Cherry Red"/starts at 1:20 although it's better if you listen to the whole thing— LINK
2. John Cipollina & Gary Duncan/Quicksilver MS/"Gold and Silver" (Johnny C. and his vibrato bar ...): LINK

Free Bird... I played in a local BR band 20 years ago. Went to play a gig in Addis La at the VFW Hall . Ole vet that let's us in is wearing a tired old blue jean jacket with the beard, filter less cigarette and. Nam hat with his outfit and years stitched in gold. Remember him helping us unloading and talking. He showed us the back wall behind us were all the light switches for the house lighting. It was about 20 switches in a row like the ones you have in your house. Last song of the night we are kicking Free Bird and we hit the solo with BR's Lee F. Ripping the lead, these people are in front of the band going nuts and all of a sudden the most amazing light show(in my opinion) ever. The lights in this building are going crazy......I'm on the drums and I look back at the light panel and my ole Vietnam Vet is playing that light switch station like a piano with his head banging to the music....it was epic!!!!!... So yep it's free bird for me....
