Could you imagine if it were lawn dart or ninja star night at the stadium?

I'll agree with this. I was at the game. If I wouldn't have been at the top of Sec 229, I would have thrown an aluminum pint. I didn't because it was almost empty and I don't have Rick Ankiel's arm. No way I could have made it to the field. I decided to support those who were throwing on the field by booing my face off!

Nah. There's been worse. The thing that made this one so bad was how late it was called.

This was before they built the house in Auburn. The house in Peachtree City is now used only when the season is going on.

Yep. Kayla (meaning the nanny) liked the house in Auburn better because she had her own guest house.

What exactly is "embarrassing" about it? The only person that should be embarrassed is the LF ump.
These are my thoughts. Joe Simpson and the rest of ATL talk radio went bananas over what the fans did. Give me a frickin break. It is a baseball game not a church, who cares if some plastic bottles get thrown on the field. They made it sound like the players were running for there lives dodging grenades. The refs are given too big of a pass, had the fans not done something of this magnitude, I doubt the call would have even made the national news. The whole thing has already blown over and been forgotten which is extremely frustrating as a braves fan.

Joe Simpson sold out when he started bashing the fans and I lost a lot of respect for him. The fans at least gave the umps some time to think about what they had done. You spend money supporting a team for 6 months and you have a right to throw your nachos onto the field when a call like that is made. Any other fan base would do the same thing. I'm not embarrassed as a Braves fan

exactly. if this had happened in Yankee Stadium the fans would have been leaving in patty wagons. And I dont think Joe Torre would have been so quick to disallow the team's protest of the game.

I agree with others saying that this would most likely have been even worse in several other ballparks. Philly, Yankees, Red Sox fans might have rioted for real. I don't blame the fans for the initial reaction, but after a while it got a little ridiculous, particularly still throwing stuff when the game ended. The initial barrage was kind of awesome actually, but that was enough. I don't guess the umpire has said anything about since then, correct? I know MLB said the game would stand, but have they said anything else about the call itself since then?

like a bunch of clowns all fitting in a volkswagon, they have fallen all over themselves "standing" by the call and how is was so "right" total frauds and MLB Umpires are indeed the most douchy bitches in America

Thats funny, never seen rutgers OR yankees fans throwing shite on the field after a bad call. Nice try though. Im surprised there were even enough fans in the stands that cared enough to throw shite.

but the initial reaction was justified....I've not seen such a bad "judgement" on a judgement call for some time
Definitely bad judgment for a major league ump. "Clearly erroneous". There is no possible argument for legitimizing that call especially after the LF called the IF off. It was so bad, not even Tim Donaghy makes that call. If there wasn't gambling involved, then that ump should be summarily dismissed for pure, utter and sheer incompetence. The fans actions were excusable, the umps...inexcusable. Then to have the nerve to even attempt to justify it. My blood is still boiling over this. At least Holbrook could own up to his mistake and, then, I think most fans could admit, hey, people make mistakes. Same situation with the Bama-alumni replay official on the PP7 INT. Even Rodgers Redding and Mike Slive came out and supported the call in the face of clear and undisputable video evidence of PP7's foot being (AT A MINIMUM) 6" inside the field of play. DISGRACEFUL.
