that wouldn't be that bad. The thing is that its only going to take one team to massively overpay, and he's made it clear he aims to cash-in on this contract, since its his last really big payday. He gone, and everyone is ok with that for the most part.

If he signs with the Rangers I will give myself the ban hammer for one month. I will post on none of the boards. That's how confident I am that this shite has run it's course.

Gotta move Ethier if they do. Paying Hamilton 20 will throw them over 210-million before counting arbitration and other FAs.

Agreed outside of the Mets. They can tote a high payroll and they have a good amount of flexibility.

You could see a surprise team like Nationals, Cards, Braves, Arizona, or Toronto make an offer and maybe some team will be dumb enough to give him 6 years at 20 million or more a season.
Possibly, but I don't see any of those making a really big splash.

I doubt Mets just because they seem to be going in a different direction, maybe they try and move Ike and bring in Hamilton along with other to surround Wright. Of course past seasons has shown teams come out of no where and sign players to crazy contracts. Werth, Fielder, Albert, Texas with Arod etc

Come on. They Yankees have no interest in overpaying him like they do everyone else? I'm sure they would prefer him over Ibanez. I fully expect him to go no where else but New York.

Yankees have Cano and Granderson to pay, not to mention Kuroda and Soriano who are FA and Swisher, Ibanez he isn't going to go to NY with Cashman wanting to get under luxury tax within next few years.

The Red Sox have plenty of freed up money to chase Hamilton but holy shite would a guy with his demons in that city on that team with that pressure be an absolute recipe for disaster. Wherever he goes it'd better be somewhere the local media is as relatively friendly and forgiving as the Dallas/Rangers beat writers were to him. If he thinks these big time organizations/markets are going to coddle him the way the Rangers took care of him, he's in for a seriously rude awakening.

Nolan Ryan is the complete opposite of Hamilton. You would never hear Ryan missing a couple of starts because his 'eyes were dry'. I believe there is a word for that, it's called being a pussy. Hamilton is also the complete opposite of the team philosophy of getting on base. He always swung at the first pitch or crap 2 feet out of the zone. Have loved Hamilton for quite awhile now, but his shite this year was pretty disheartening, especially the time that it came at.

Red Sox don't appear to be a fit, I mean they just unloaded all of their HUGE contracts so why would they then go and commit 18-22 million to a 32 year old injury prone player? Doesn't make a whole lot of sense really

No way the Cubs touch him. Milwaukee will be a good spot for Hamilton.

My thinking is a contender with a forgiving fan base like Baltimore or an apathetic fan base like Atlanta would make the most sense for him.

I still think he and the Rangers work out their differences and he resigns. Not the popular opinion but Rangers are in a championship mode and can contend for next few years with Hamilton. Besides Hamilton the Rangers had other issues for their slide, he was no sole reason. Cruz hit .265 in September Andrus hit .243 in September Kisler hit .220 in September Moreland hit .205 in September Hamilton hit .259 in September Their pitching was strong last month of season outside of Dempster however with Yu looking great late in year. With the rotation and a few small tweaks they can be right back in hunt for WS.

Have you ever MET a Baltimore fan? We still hate Reggie Jackson, and drove him out of town. Reggie f'n Jackson! And another fragile outfielder is the last thing the O's need (they also have a centerfielder). I'd be pissed if the O's sign Hamilton.

I was thinking Hamilton as a RF in Baltimore. And I know Os fans were a tough crowd back in the day, but my impression from the ones I know is that they're so beat down from the last 15 years that they'll put up with a lot in exchange for production. This is after all the franchise that took on the likes of Sammy Sosa and Albert Belle during that era.

Add to that Feliz coming back. If Ron gets some balls and keeps him in the pen that gives us arguably the strongest bullpen in MLB Koji Adams Ogando Feliz Nathan

Get rid of Young and I would wanna get rid of Cruz. Bring in say someone like a Nick Swisher, Melky, Delmon Young, Cody Ross, BJ Upton, or Bourn.
