I have to ask this again: IF herr Godell found out about this after the 09 season and told Payton & Co to stop, and they didn't, and the NFL found out it was still going on last year, then why is Scott Fujita suspended if he hasn't been a part of the team since 09? He stopped by default, right?

Fujita was suspended in addition to the others as per the Rooney Rule.

Additionally, I am now purportedly being suspended for failing to confront my former defensive coordinator for his inappropriate use of language.
Couldn't the ENTIRE defense be suspended on this principle...? Goodell is reaching here. I hope the players attorneys drop the boom on Goodell & co.

Wouldnt this be the reverse Rooney rule?

Awesome response! I really wish he was still on the team.

The Commissioner says he is disappointed in me. The truth is, I’m disappointed in him. His positions on player health and safety since a 2009 congressional hearing on concussions have been inconsistent at best. He failed to acknowledge a link between concussions & post-career brain disease, pushed for an 18-game regular season, committed to a full season of Thursday night games, has continually challenged players' rights to file workers compensation claims for on-the-job injuries, and he employed incompetent replacement officials for the start of the 2012 season. His actions or lack thereof are by the league’s own definition, “conduct detrimental”.
That's spot on accurate.

That's pretty strong. Can't say I disagree with it.

The reason the defense took such a dip was losing this guy! should have opened the check book!
