Sorry, I forgot that most of the people on this board have the attention span of a goldfish.

Interesting. I recommend the H-Town Tiger Order : Watch Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, read the Timothy Zahn books pretend the prequels never happened.

I skimmed it and found the decision to leave out Episode 1 pretty dumb. As the writer mentioned, 2 & 3 are grossly inferior to the original trilogy (meaning 4-6). To just leave off episode 1 because it's not a good movie pretty much means you have to ask why you don't just omit the entire prequel trilogy. It's an arbitrary decision. I haven't watched any Star Wars film in probably 5+ years, but when they gross my mind I pretty much pretend the prequel trilogy never happened.

I agree with this. Would have loved to have seen Thrawn in a trilogy...

You mustn't visit this board very much, and I think he chose not to read something that would be a complete waste of his time and is completely retarded.

He made the argument that omitting Episode 1 didn't impact the understanding of the story arc. He said he thought it was actually somewhat superior to Episode 2. He discusses how the overall story arc ties better introducing the universe and showing Luke's training and following that up with Anikan's (sp?) training and turn to the dark side. He makes some interesting points, specifically around continuity of how the characters looked and how Luke acted at the beginning of Jedi. It is hard to know how effective it would be to watch the series in that order since I have already seen all of them.

I can't read th elink at work. Is this the setup where you watch 4,5 then 2 and 3, then 6? If so, this has been around for a while. It seems logical, as looking back, episode 1 does seem very unimportant.

I agree, nothing that happens in I is meaningful to the next 2. For those asking the Machete Order is : IV, V, II, III, VI. skip !. Another has IV, V, I, II, III, VI. I'll add to my order, watch the Red Letter Media deconstruction of Episode I, its hilarious and one of the best pieces of film criticism you will ever see. The Sp II and III break downs are also funny but not quite as good. LINK

I tried the Machete Order on someone who hadn't seen Star Wars before in their life and it was a huge success. Episode I really doesn't add anything to the overall story arc of the saga.

I like this a lot... if I can ever convince the gf to watch Star Wars I'll have to try it this way.

I think his first alternate order is best. I loved Episode I.
