re: Recommend a Credit Card

I love my delta Amex fwiw

ETA: if you often fly different airlines you may want to look at the platinum Amex. It lets you into most airlines "clubs" at the airports

re: Recommend a Credit Card

quote:

It's a fact that people with credit cards are likely to spend more money than they would if they used cash. I would rather spend spend $100 cash and get no cash back, than spend $115 with cc and get $1.50 back. As I said, cash back programs encourage you to spend, not save. CC's foster impulse purchases - that is not my opinion, that is a proven fact. If it wasn't you wouldn't hear a thousand commercials a day from lawyers peddling bankruptcy services, and credit consolidation agencies offering to help you get out of credit card debt.

Where do you figure debit cards in this equation? I see the same cons in debit card transactions with regard to the psychology of spending via card swipe, and the same pros in terms of electronic track-ability of each transaction. I figure that using a reward-earning credit card as you would a debit card is a no-brainer, as most credit card rewards programs far outpace debit card rewards.

LINK

This is all you'll need for current information.

Depending on your score they'll decide on the level of the card. Never close old credit card accounts because that is where your history begins.

I went from someone stealing my Identity in the low 600's to a 800 now with excellent score and cards. I say this because it matters you understand the system.

That link has 9 out of the 11 "best" cards shown as Capital One cards... I don't think that website is unbiased but that is just my opinion

They do have a lot of Capital One cards none of which I have. However, click through the links on the left.

Visa Black, Chase Sapphire, Amex Gold, Citi Hilton Honors, etc. Make sure to click through the 5 pages on the bottom of each link you highlighted.

Check out Bank of America cards such as Visa signature.

Did a ton of research on cards two years ago and the best was capital one venture.

I've had it since then and I've been to San Fran and Vegas for free and just booked another trip. Super easy

If you are only going to have one card, this is the best.

I've used United's Mileage Plus Chase card and it's been pretty good. You have really missed out on a LOT of reward points through hotel and airfare.

Amex Platinum

Only get this is you fly multiple carriers often and cannot make one airline your primary

quote:

Hilton Amex

This gets you more points but what are the other benefits for paying the $95 a year?
