I hope you are kidding. There is no academy in the country that teaches to shoot someone in the fashion that you have described. Once the decision to use deadly force has been made it needs to be employed until the threat is neutralized.

In fact, LSD was used in therapy for awhile.
My point was that Albert Hoffman's creation, Lysergic Acid Diethylamide-25, doesn't require deadly force.
A taser is sufficient to stop the individual. It is not the same chemical pathway as drugs like methamphetamine where the taser shock would be rendered ineffectual.

Or don't do drugs if you can't handle them. Tons of people use acid and don't do what this kid did. He more than likely had some serious mental issues before this incident, known or not known.

You do realize that if the kid gets in close quarters he can take his gun right?
As I said in the other thread, without being there and seeing the action, no one can say whether the cop was justified or not.
Those who think no "unarmed" person should ever be shot are ignorant. Tell that to the cops who barret robbins squared up to.

And how precisely did the officer know what drug this naked, aggressive young man was on BEFORE he fired upon him?
You know...since deadly force wasn't warranted for THIS drug.
I get that you hate cops on power trips. I do too. This is a case of stupid actions result in getting shot and killed. Period.
Everyone in here has made plenty of valid points as to why the cop felt like deadly force was justified. He did what he was supposed to do in a situation that he did not choose to put himself into. The kid died because of his own actions. He put himself in that situation. The cop didn't ask to be forced to make the decision he made.
