Florida? Wrong

Ohio? Wrong

Those were states he picked McCain or a Tie that was at least 4 points off.
You've posted this stuff a couple of times now. But when one compares Rasmussen to any other national polling firm the comparisons are favorable to RR in state-by-state data. Looking at all 50 states, not just those 4 you list, leaves a favorable impression of Rasmussen even if compared with individual state based polls.

Rasmussen was the most accurate in 2008.
Gallup Second
Pew was 3rd i believe.

2 weeks ago dems were trying to rub it in our face, about the poll numbers. Now they are crying calling them "slop". Petulant children they are.

I just can't stand the insane conspiracy theories and then "rose colored glasses" promotion of Rasmussen. I don't believe it's a bad poll because RCP uses it as part of the total average. The outliers will usually cancel each other out.

Chuck Todd stated the other day that Obama's had reached the 70's with Hispanics, but then he came back to say the intensity didn't match '08. Furthermore, the GOP had an intensity advantage of 12% which was keeping their polls within the MOE for Romney.

Dude, that's great he nailed the National Poll. The point is that this is about individual states (electoral college). I wouldn't post this except people are posting their hopes on 1 poll. The pro's go by the RCP Avg because it takes all polls into account. If you go by the RCP poll then you would see its far superior to any 1 poll including Rasmussen.

The thing about state polls is the body gets smaller, but the question remains the same size.

Polls are good at giving broad, general indicators.

The smaller the pool that is represented, the more likely it will be wrong.

Possibly, but with states there is more known info that you can weight by. And weighting becomes easier. You can weight on party registration (if available) by region. Same goes for age and sex by region. You can't do that in as fine of a fashion at the national level.

You either didn't read the response or you did not understand it.

I could say the same thing about your infatuation with RCP.

Wasn't Rasmussen the most accurate in 2004 too right? I hear Bill O'reilly say it all the time.

Not sure about that, I don't know.

But 2004 in polling terms was just a different universe. With 30% cell phone only households, Ramussen just doesn't capture the electorate as well as those that include cell phones.
