Im calling bull shite that you know a fricking thing about me. We're both entrepreneurs too. Have our own business which brings in an additional 20k with part time work.
This shite is getting really deep in here, now. So, with your 'part-time business' you're at $150k combined now? Give me a break. ETA:
Not that its fricking important. I only said it to shut up the other a-hole but I make 50. She makes 60 and our business together makes 20. Don't be jelly.
Just saw your break down in your second post to me. Still don't believe you, but why would I be jelly?

Houston is quite literally the worst big city in america. i can say this unequivocally. it has zero character. it's spread out. dull.
not sure what happened to you to garner this opinion, but i emphatically disagree. I'm there regularly and other than the traffic, I think its pretty great. To each his own though.

the cheaper parts of manhattan, yorksville, harlem, morningside heights, they are to far from everything, you don't want to live there. live in brooklyn so at least around younger people and can get around easier. brooklyn's no deal anymore though, it's real expensive, maybe you should stick to astoria

Trash collectors in NYC make about 67k after a few years. I have a friend who does this(driver) for the teamsters up there making just south of 100g's, and he lives in a crappy part of Brooklyn, sharing a house with his wife(a nurse,) three young kids, and another family.

um years and years of having visited houston. all the big city pains, none of the big city trappings. not to mention. you're surrounded by texans. i'm not the only one that disagrees. LINK have you ever spent time in a good big city?

BR pays engineers very well... Might not get too much of a boost from moving.

there are reasons to live in brooklyn. the price just isn't one of them. if you want to save a buck, move to green point or bushwick.

As a CE don't expect to make more than you do in BR. Oil and gas industries keep these salary's up and make other private firms stay competitive.

no, but you might possibly find life less enjoyable if the COL is equal to or greater than what you earn. Not suggesting you're a hood rat, just suggesting you consider what the COL is in these cities, and make sure its doable on your combined income.

I have absolutely no reason to lie on here. Impressing you tools will in no way better my day. I was just shutting up the other guy who was getting this thread off topic when I'm only looking for some guidance.

Nashville - friend at Vandy said its one of the best places in the world. He's from NYC and spends a lot of time in DC. San Antonio/ Austin - Texas hill country... Austin also has a lot of col stuff going on. San Diego - perfect weather and good beaches. Probably pretty high tax though.
