| Bobby Off to Washington?? (Posted on 10/9/12 at 2:59 pm)
According to an article in The Advocate, "reports are that Jindal is the favorite to become the 2013 chairman of the Republican Governors Association. The role would be an important networking opportunity for Jindal, who cannot seek re-election in 3 yrs." "Looks like it's heading that way but the vote is not till mid-Nov." said Jindal's political adviser, Timmy Teepell of the chairmanship possibility. "By becoming chairman, Jindal would leapfrog to the position without first serving as vice chairman." "It's a pretty big deal" Pearson Cross, chairman of the Dept. of Political Science at UL@L was quoted as saying."The role would allow Jindal to build relationships with other Republican governors", again according to Cross.

he would still be serving as governor. I really think he's going to be, in the event of a Romney victory, tapped for a cabinet post as head of HHS.

Good fricking riddance, Bobby! Quite possibly my least favorite governor ever.

This position is no way requires him to not be Governor. In fact, he has to be Governor to hold it.

Teacher? Because bringing businesses to the state, and being an ace as far as disaster management sucks! In fact, lets bring that idiot blanco back. Maybe we can get some more tips on throwing the perfect picnic.

Yeah, i hate when Louisiana has a surplus during a down economy. We should be in debt up to our ears like California. That's how you run a state...

I'm not a teacher and I'm not a Democrat. I didn't vote for Blanco and am conservative. I just think Bobby is too damn conservative and just a little harsh. I agree with his basic ideas I just think he takes things a bit too far sometimes. Also, more recently, he announced $50 million dollars for LSU's engineering department but a day or two later he announces cuts to healthcare. Really? I'm all for pulling yourself up from the bootstraps and taking care of yourself. I'm 100% for encouraging the poor to try to help themselves instead of continuing to make it easy for them to sit back and mooch from the government but damn, he is a little harsh. He doesn't even try to hide his disdain for the poor.

Yea, screw people fending for themselves. Were there people just keeling over in the street prior to government assisted healthcare?

Agreed. I think Rick Perry chaired it in the past and we still have him in Texas.

This would not surprise me one bit.

Wait? What is your level of knowledge about the "healthcare" as it relates to state expenditures? Are you suggesting that one may NEVER make cuts to "healthcare" because: 1) It is set at the perfect amount of spending? 2) It is too low now? 3) Its HEALTHCARE...one cannot cut HEALTHCARE!!? JEEBUS!! "I like the guy. I am a Republican. But, he cut 'healthcare'. Therefore, he is the WORST governor ever" wow

Geeze, does google not work for you people? The state is funding half of a new expanded engineering complex. LSU has to come up with the rest of the money. Its also the dept that brings in the most money, grants, etc. The state has a separate budget for Capital projects they have to spend every year. This is good for LSU, and the engineering dept. Were you also one of the people bitching about cuts to LSU? Google Is Your Friend

Look, y'all can call me whatever y'all want. I'm not Liberal and my posts on here would prove that. Just because I'm conservative doesn't mean I have to like a Republivan governor, though. I can think for myself and have my own opinions that are separate from my political leanings, which are not always in one bucket over another. I know that's hard for some on here to understand. It's called being human. I have some liberal social views, but I also have conservative fiscal views. I usually vote Republican but I have voted Democratic before.
