If you're working as a nurse you had to earn some sort of degree/certification right? I think that counts as educated.
But I still do not have a college degree. I went to nursing school, got a diploma in nursing and took boards and received my nursing license. But I don't have a degree. So based on your "I could never marry someone without a degree" I wouldn't qualify, correct?

Just pointing out that not having a degree doesn't necessarily mean the person is a cashier at Walmart.

This is a message board and everyone here realizes that both sides feel compelled to take the most extreme point of view possible in order to get the point across. I am sure you associate with plenty of women without degrees on a daily basis and they understand every single word in your vocabulary.

I don't agree with everything he's saying .. or at least not the way he's saying it.. But I can certainly see where people in their early-mid 20s couldn't be with someone who never went to college if they did themselves. Most everyone I know from home that never went to college does COMPLETELY different things in their free time than I do, has a different idea of what constitutes a fun weekend, has vastly different hobbies than me, don't care as much about LSU games or things that you come to love as a student, etc. Obviously that's not everyone. I can absolutely see how that would change as you get older and you meet more established people. Let's face it.. at my age, people with AND without degrees are still working "jobs" for the most part.. not careers.

Would you date a woman with only a h.s. education? NO Would you marry a woman with only a h.s. education? NO What's more important - intelligence or education? Both are equally important. Yeah, fricking is good. However, I want her to have a brain outside of the bedroom.

When I married my first wife I told her I was gonna f her brains out. By the time I divorced her, I'm pretty sure I succeeded.

I'm late to this party but here is my opinion based on being meddle aged and having been married for 20 years. When I was younger, the college education was very important. I married a woman who has an equal education and who has been very successful in her career. As time has gone on, I would take a sweet, kind and loving woman any day of the week over a highly educated career minded woman. No offense to my wife, but, she is still to this day career minded and she puts her career first above everything else in her life. She is now a middle aged woman who can't figure out why she is unhappy. She has few friends and even her sister and mother have very strained relationships with her. It is all because of her attitude of always putting her career first and others in her life second. It is no way to live. So short answer, I would take a less sophisticated woman any day of the week.
