I just left the DC area after over 20 years.... Be prepared to deal with high rents, high priced mass transit, and a lot of traffic

She is one of the best at her job and is running the show, right under the GM, at a very nice place right now.

Houston. Don't listen to these fools who have probably spent 2 days there. It's great for young professionals. Job market is booming, housing market is up. No income taxes. Underrated compared to Austin, which is so overrated.

Las Vegas
Vegas is a shite box right now as far as economy, but would be good for her line of work. He would probably have real issues finding work. Way too many construction types and engineers getting canned out there that he would have to compete with...

Now don't get me wrong... I love Houston also, but if I had the choice between the two and if all things were equal (which granted they may not be), I would choose Austin in a heartbeat. However, Houston has been berry, berry good to me over the past 12 years in a lot of ways. I don't think the OP would go wrong coming here at all!

New Orleans would be #1 if you were single. NYC, San Diego, and San Francisco are probably too expensive. Nashville, Pittsburg, and Charlotte might not be bad.

Meh, it's not a bad place at all. It just gets so much love and I have no idea why.

for reference:
quote:
biggest questions are what yall are looking for when you move? night life? good food? near an attraction? near beach/mountains/woods/countryside/big city/etc.? do yall want to live in an apartment or house? can you handle extreme cold? more info on your interests will be a major driving point for help rather than every dip shite saying why their city is obviously better than BR.
