100's of flies in my Crepe Myrtles

I have so many flies in my crepe myrtles it is freaking me out. It sounds like a propeller plane when I disturb the tree. I guess I could have Googled, but with all of this infinite wisdom I came here first.

Any solutions?

Pump sprayer and tree friendly insecticide, very easy.

Some flies are good for the health of the crepe myrtles.

For realz? There are so many it's freaky. They are along the walkway going into my front door. I feel like I have to hold my breath when I rush by.

Paranormal activity? Think your tree is haunted.

This doesn't sound normal. Are you sure there isn't a small dead animal somewhere in the branches?

And what kind of flies are we talking? House flies? Fruit flies?

They're still fairly infant trees. They're maybe 7' high. I don't think they need to be crepe murdered. I thought general consensus on slashing them was a no-no.

Could be cluster flies. I had an issue with them last Autumn. Usually a cold snap will kill them but they are a pain in the A$$. Good luck.

Did you plant your crepe myrtle on a fresh mass grave?
