It's almost if they're all really paid informants planted from the Athletic Department to defend the company line

You are probably not far from the truth.

3? who?

Why was this touted as the best oline we have had? Why is the drop off so sever? Why aren't the 2nd string guys ready? Maybe if we had a better offense we could develop more talent rather than letting them learn under pressure.

Agreed. If everyone was healthy, you still cant run the ball against 9 in the box. Offense is too predictable. The opponents know what were running most of the time because Les NEVER changes it up and does anything different.

Your position is National Champs or nothing

I would say every season is judged on it's own merit. This one hands perilously on the edge right now.

If LSU loses badly this weekend, some folks who don't want to hear it may want to avoid all national media, this board and any other outside news that deals with the sport for a while.

LSU fans aren't the only ones seeing problems right now. Maybe it can get turned this weekend, who knows...

The obvious answer is NO to the OP....

The next obvious answer is that Les has become very predictable and opposing D-Cor are figuring out how to stop his scheme with the lose of starters due to injury and the fact that most of them have seen the exact same offense for the past 4.5 years... I agree to a large % that it has worked for the most part and hasn't had to change but once people have caught up to it and the talent level has evened out then you have to adapt... This my friend has not been Les's strong suit and if an idiot like me can see it then the best D-cor's in college football certainly can as well.

O great. 2 of the very few palyers that have progressed on offense are fullbacks. Woooo we def are developing great talent on the offensive side here. Speaking of Copeland, why the frick are we going out of our way to give him touches? Because Les likes him? Why are we throwing him the ball on 3rd and 7 in the flats? Hes a converted DT with no hands and slow as shit, yet Les likes him so hes going to use him like a weapon.

IMO, essentially his primary role is to manage and oversee the production of this team. In other words, let your coaches do their job, but interfere when productivity halts.

He allows Chavis to do what he wants with the D because hes our best coach/coordinator. But, Les controls the offense. He might let Stud call some plays or some series, but he approves of them. When its crunch time, Les calls what Les wants to call.

About Mo, 3* to #5 pick.
Brockers 4* to 1st round, played behind Nevis and clearly wasn't ready to bench him.

It's ludicrous and really not worth discussing, so maybe you should find another avenue to dis the staff.

I have no basis to weight this. He never looked better than any of the others. There was never alot of distance between the backs.

Then I'd argue all other RBs as a group progressed as well. Blue looked amazing before he got hurt.

Williford
Lonergan

Sure.

quote:

Lafell

His stats do not bear that out. More TD's, but fewer receptions, yards, ypc, etc

So what's your criteria for improvement? Is it simply more production? In that case you can add Reuben Randle to the list of players that improved.

quote:

Lee

Lee was a much better QB his senior year, I don't think you can argue that.

Those are on D buddy. Les doesnt touch the D. In the passing game, we have had very few players improve while they have been here. Lafell did. And im sure there are a few more, but majority of guys stay stagnant.

Lee was vastly improved, but where did that get him? O yea thats right Les benched him after the 1st 7 games, which has been our best offense in 2 years, for JJ... Thanks for making my point easier.

What is yours?

Do you think he would agree?

quote:

Lee was a much better QB his senior year
Compared to what?

He was mediocre, playing in a considerably safer offense than in 08.

don't think Miles has any significant involvement with defensive coaching, though.
What makes you so sure he has that much involvement with offensive coaching?
Because the Rant says so?
He has staff and surely can't coach all positions in 20hrs a week and perform HC duties at a large institution.

You're the one making the argument Lafell and Doucet didn't improve because their production decreased. In that case it's reall easy to point out the players whose production increased, therefore they must have improved.

quote:

His senior year compared to the rest of his collegiate career, he improved and you really made no argument against that.

No. However, I know enough about football to know that our offense isn't performing well and changes must be made. Your question is like asking a layman if he knows more medicine than a medical doctor. Of course, the layman doesn't but he knows when he is sick even though the doctor might tell him he isn't sick.

That is a metric.

Hard to tell otherwise, because the entire offense was garbage for Lafell.

For Doucet, the offense was fine in Crowton's first year, but Doucet's stats dropped.

quote:

His senior year compared to the rest of his collegiate career
The offense was safer.

He looked exactly the same as he did in 08. No Pick 6's because the offense was safer. When you throw mainly slants and screens, your completion percentage tends to rise.
