Look, nobody wants LSU to win on Saturday more than I, but those of you who think we can win that game are simply not paying attention.
Florida didn't just beat us, they whipped our arse's in the second half. They played more physical than we did, and the game was not as close as the score indicated. As that game wore on, our defensive line got wore down. The fact is we are light across the defensive line, and Florida exploited that weakness...So will South Carolina.
South Carolina plays a physical brand of football, maybe more-so than Florida. They have a more physical back in Lattimore, and a better Qb in Conner Shaw, and dare I say a better coach in Steve Spurrier.
We are better than we played on Saturday, but we have been ravaged by injuries. Injuries are a fact of life in football, so we have to deal with what we are dealt. That depth that we had at the beginning of the season, we no longer have. The fact that Florida had a bye week prior to our game helped them immensely as well.
The only way we win that game is to go back to a physical, smash-mouth brand of football, which we all complained about last year in the national championship game. We run on first down, run on second down, and have a 3rd and 5. What we did against Florida was run on 1st down, pick up 4 yards, and then play action on second down with an incomplete pass, leaving us with 3rd and 6, which forces us into a passing situation.
When we got the ball on the turnover right before half, we had it on the 7 yard line. We ran on first down and took it to the 4. If we run 2 more times, we punch that in for a TD, but the play action pass on second down made us predictable on third down, just like every other drive where we went 3 and out.
I hope I'm wrong, I just don't see it.

correct me if i'm wrong but weren't we pitching a shutout until Minter went out? And didn't we hold them scoreless when he came back in? We're a completely different def with him in there.

We aren't Georgia and the game isn't in Columbia. WE have been in these types of games before...SC is a mirage....NEVER underestimate TS @ night and the advantages that come along with it.

You make several good points IMO...it will take some legitimate offensive competency to defeat the Cocks! Playing in TS, catching them after a Huge win, and knowing this is a Must Win game for LSU should help a lot!

The TOP was huge for Florida. The LSU D was on the field entirely too long and got gassed. To say the game wasn't as close as it looked was foolish.

No one thinks this game is not going to be tough
No question if LSU doesn't improve significantly they will not win this game
Being at home needs to be an advantage and hopefully LSU fans will support the team and not make it miserable for the ones that do win or lose
If your not going to support this team your better off selling your tickets to USCe fans

I think yall can beat USC. I think they pounced on an over-rated flat UGA team. They have a history of let down games after big wins, Kentucky '10.
Maybe Im not paying attention.

The Defense did wear down, but it was due to a lack of our offense being able to execute.

This. If anything, I came away from the Florida game even more impressed with our defense. They are stronger than I thought they were. However, they're not super human. You simply can't expect them to continue to produce at such a high level when they are constantly on the field.

NC State beat Florida State Saturday. Anything can happen even with a shitty team. We have one of the best defenses in the country. If they can beat FSU, I think we can win at home.
