As I said before, Blacks aren't any more susceptible to tribalism than any other race, religion or ethnic group, and maybe even less so. Obama likely got 5% more of the Black vote than Hillary would have gotten had she been the nominee (95% vs 90%). In 1960 when JFK was the first Catholic Presidential nominee, he got 36% more of the Catholic vote than the previous Democratic nominee had gotten (82% vs 46%) and no Democratic nominee has come close to getting that big a share of the Catholic vote since.

Yet you don't see people freak the F out when guys like Adam Sandler donate money and support republicans. That's what makes it racial.

Wrong! Kennedy got a 36% bigger share of the Catholic vote because he was Catholic. Obama only got a 5% bigger share of the Black vote because he was Black. Had Hillary gotten the nomination, she would have likely gotten 90% of the Black vote, since she would not have been able to poach Black Republicans like Colin Powell, Armstrong Williams, JC Watts and Michael Steele who acounted for the extra 5% but who usually vote Republican.

You can't really look at the raw numbers. It could be very likely that it was much harder to get 5% more added to the already 90% than it was/would be to get 36% added to a much lower percentage. The maximum possible additional Obama could get was 10% - you can't compare that to someone adding to an original total less than 50%. No way.

That's a fair point. How do you suppose we measure these things? Here's a question for you. How do you think the Black vote would split if Hillary Clinton was in an election against Herman Cain? If you thin Cain would get the majority, then you can logically speculate that the majority of Blacks value race over ideology when it comes to Presidential politics. If you think Hillary would get the majority, then you can logically speculate that the majority of Blacks value ideology over race.
