Some might think we are the same person. Either that, or the only rational, sane Tiger fans on this board.

And FWIW, I agree that it does not seem that we have somebody to turn to, but we should, and we need to. If the staff does not have somebody lined up, then it is 100% on them. And any football fan should know that good QB play is vital to any offense.

No he didn't. He bounced around like a pinball in the pocket.

The offense is similar both in '09 and this season. Lots of similarities, except we had better WR's.

Let me just slap you in the face with it, since the obvious is hidden from you.

NO QB will ever bee as good as the fans want at LSU under this offensive braintrust. It isn't the QB's, stupid.

The program is a QB killer. Consecutive failures and you can't see that??

Roger, you lose 2-1 on this one. Go rewatch the game film from '09. And while you are at it, what film have you watched to say that both Mett and Lee came into the program as great QBs but were "wrecked" by the coaching? I watched a guy play a lowly Division whatever team and have trouble (a) reading the defense; (b) reading blitzes; (c) locking onto one receiver; and (d) being accurate. Are you suggesting he had these capabilities and Les took them away from him?

Many less talented QB's than Mett are succeeding in college football right now though.

And how do you know they are less talented than Mett? Or what talents are you comparing? Just arm strength? Or are you factoring in mental ability and foot speed? Just because a guy is 6'5" with a strong arm does not mean he's a super talented QB. Give me super smart with good feet, standing 6 foot with average arm strength every day of the week (see Drew Brees).

But to your point, it will always be a combination of scheme and QB ability. Right now, we suck at both.

Flynn was ok. Right?

And Perriloux showed some promise. Right?

And then Perriloux gets kicked off and we have no one. Then we go thru Harvard guy, J Lee and Jefferson. None of those guys were very good. They all lacked something critical to being a good QB. Then we get Mett and all of us are very excited and hopeful. But then we see him out there, and he just doesn't have it. Disappoint.

No, last time I checked he was human. But in 2009 he was a very tentative QB. I am not continuing this debate with an arborist, so have the last word and have fun banging your head into the brick wall while you wait for the "Mettsiah."

You sound like a real internet tough guy...I bet you have never ever played organized football in your life and it's glaringly obvious. Amateur.

Maybe I missed it, but I am still waiting for you to explain why you think Mett has the goods just because he was ranked as the #1 JC QB. I pointed out the idiocy of your logic and did not hear back from you.

Deductive reasoning would tell you that the skill set is there based on his successful stint @ Butler. 6 games into the season and youre already calling for an "abandon ship"? COME ON, MAN! How would you evaluate his performance against U Dub? Furthermore, will you be willing to eat crow if and when he lights it up this Saturday night? You see, the problem with people like yourself that really have no core knowledge of what it is like being on a football team is that mistakes will be made, and the solution isn't to jump to the next guy in hopes of a better performance...it's about developing continuity and learning as you go esp as it relates to the QB Position. Please post less.

Deductive reasoning does not work here, as I tried to explain to you. Deductive reasoning would tell you that Ryan Leaf would be a great NFL QB. He wasn't.

I am not advocating an abandon ship mentality, but I think that Miles needs to be prepared Saturday to mix it up. The offense is in a funk, nobody can debate that.

And yes, I would gladly eat all of that crow AND MORE if he does what you say. My opinion, to date, is based on what I have seen of him playing the position, not on what I hope or wish (based on star gazing) he could be.

And finally, if I were Les I would bench him just to send him the message. This has nothing to do with mistakes, rather what at the least appears to be a lack of preparation/commitment. Maybe that will get through to him, because having a teammate last year call you a clown obviously did not do the trick.

No, I am suggesting every QB comes into a program a little raw (except Russell Wilson) and requires some work becoming a great QB. This isn't happening at LSU. You can pretend all you want, but it isn't happening.

Are you saying that Les Miles just recruits from the Rivals top 250 and doesn't evaluate talent? I have more faith in the man as a recruiter than you.

Flynn and RP came in a LONG time ago and a lot has changed since them. Since 2008, the offensive philosophy has taken a hard turn. LSU is still recruiting top notch quality BTW.

Flynn also had the benefit of playing under Jimbo.

Keep holding your breath that Les will learn to recognize talent though, since it seems to be the only problem.

What about Flynn?

And Perriloux looked the part in limited play.

Dude, Flynn came in the program under a whole different philosophy and OC. A lot has changed since 2007. Keep holding your breath for a decent QB, since you think the current one sucks. What you have is what you will have for a long time it appears.

Wait a minute, are there multiple people in here saying Mett is the problem with the offense?

That's pure idiotic assumption on your part but doesn't shock me from reading most of your posts in this thread..
