We're still paying for fewer people in other facets of compensation, ie retirement, health care, etc. I would like to see a comparison of salaries eliminated and those added by your 'crony hires', not calling you out, I'm actually interested in seeing that. I'm not naive, I know he's not perfect, but it's still progress.

By having a unique refundable tax credit the film industry doesn't even have to generate tax obligations to use the credits.
Please elaborate. Here are a couple of examples why your opinions carry little weight: "Not even oil and gas." - This is an incomplete sentence. "No other industry get" - "Gets" not "get" is the proper conjugation of the verb here. "tax payer" - The word is 'taxpayer.' It is one word, not two. "in it's worse form" - "It's" is a contraction for "it is." "Its" is the word you were looking for. When you don't even know basic spelling and grammar, you show a lack of intelligence. Also: "as the budget shortfall" - Actually the state ended fiscal year 2011-2012 with an almost $200 million surplus, not a deficit.

Holy shite you are still the dumbest poster I have ever seen on this board.

NOT EVEN REMOTELY TRUE What IS easy to compute is that 1 million 50k a year paying jobs would be the best thing to ever happen to this state. We would have 0 unemployment and NO WELLFARE! Those things are easy to compute. The factor in which the return on the money being spent many times over and taxed many times over is not easy at all. Seriously you are still holding on to this brain dead belief even after you had you arse handed to you in the other thread over it? You would be better off just giving it up to the fact that you know jack shite about finances.

I already did that for you in your first inane thread on this subject. And then I estimated how much state and local revenues would increase, making up the tax credits many times over. Your reply to that showed the math and economic concepts (such as the multiplier effect of new money injected into a market) went completely over your head. Don't blame everyone else for your own ignorance.

Russian you can be my grammar editor. I have explained this to you before. It is easy. Russian Film Productions LLC makes a film and pays Lindsay Lohan $1million. They then apply to the state for the film tax credit and get $300,000 in credits (If Lindsay establishes residence here for a little while they get $350,000). The LLC then transfers the film to another sister distribution company in another state where all the revenue of the film is generated and no income tax is generated in Louisiana. The LLC then sells the tax credit because it is transferrable to whoever they wish at the highest price. The State itself will buy it 85 cents on the dollar. Most trade north of 95 cents to people who owe Louisiana taxes. No conservative that can do math would support such welfare. If the credits are to stay in place they should not be transferable. If they are so good--you have never addressed this question--then why not do them for everybody?

Why bring Lindsey Lohan into your thread? Doesn't she have enough problems?

BS Russian. You never once admitted how much cash money the state would have to have on hand to pay those credits. Now once you arrive at the number tell me do you really believe they will generate enough additional cash money to fund the credits. If you do then you owe it to all of us to tell us why you do not believe such credits should be available to everybody.

You're arguing with Russian. You think he gives a frick what is economical? He's a supporter of the Fed and the Drug War. Let Jindal burn the money for all he cares.

Of course it is easy to compute. The tax credit is 35% if they are Louisiana citizens. I can promise you this if you make that tax credit available to every industry a lot more than one million jobs would be created. The idea that you can have a personal tax rate of 6% and give away 35% of wages to such a large portion of the State population is absurd.

the tax credit is why the film industry is here in the first place. without it there wouldn't be a film industry...the jobs it brings...and the money it generates. its not that hard to understand. i'm still not understanding exactly why you're so against this tax credit

It's probably something personal. Maybe he got fired from a job, i dunno. But it's definitely not logical.
