Why have we stopped using Shepard in the run game?

I believe I've asked this before, but the dude is too good a weapon not to use in the run game.

Shit, it's not like it sucked. Here is a whole highlight video of it working.

Hell, it's like he makes a great run (78 yd TD run) and then we don't see him for 4 weeks.

He's run 8 times this year for 106 yds. took one to the house.

There's no excuse the positigers can use on this one. You gotta use your playmakers.

90% of the time he lines up in the backfield he's tackled for no gain or a loss.

And when you watch he always gets positive yards, wow. Our offense sucks.

Bull shite. He's averaging 7 ypc in his career and has 5 TDs.

he's averaging 13 ypc this year. (take out the long run, he's still averaging about 4)

And all of that is with us NEVER using him as a decoy. Maybe if we fake it to him every once in a while it'll make it more effective when he does get the ball.

Shepard is a situational guy, LSU does not have the coaching capable to use situational guys. they didn't when we had Holliday and they don't have it now with Shep.

Look around at how teams use guys on a situation basis in both the NFL and NCAA. Case in point, Sproles. You can't use Sproles like a Ray Rice, you have to find ways to utilize him.

He was very evasive when used in the wild tiger.

Here's another one for you:

99% of the time rs is in the backfield he's getting the ball and every defense knows it.

We aren't capable of using him correctly as a ball carrier or as a decoy.

I know, and Shep should be getting at least 5 touches a game in the running game.

Giving the ball to Shep 5 times a games takes the ball out of another players hands 5 times a game. I doubt you would recommend exchanging pass plays for Shep runs since everyone believes we need to throw the ball more not Les (YSWIDT?). So which running back to you want to take carries from to give to Shep? I'd have to say that Shep is probably behind Ware, Hilliard, Ford, and maybe even Hill (haven't seen enough yet). Don't know why you want to exchange carries from those guys in favor of carries for Shep.

we are, we just forgot how to. we did it in 2010.

the crazy thing with this staff is that we've shown things over the yrs that would work, and then we never see em again. we don't need some great offensive overhaul or new stuff (though some new wrinkles would be nice); just use plays we've used in the past.

and 50% of he time it works every time. But there's only a 35% chance if that.

O line problems narrows the offensive creativity..FACT. Im with you though try something to make em think. Alot of his plays could be set up plays for later in the game if used properly.

If Ware can't get more than 3yds rushing, what makes you think Shep could do better?... ..Don't quit your day job, a coach you're not!..

Doesn't matter he needs to get 5-10 touches every game. Doesn't matter how he gets them hand offs, screen plays, or special teams, give him touches cause he tends to make good things happen.

He's not saying that Shep could get the yards, Shep runs well enough to give the defense something to think about besides toss back handoffs.

And giving the ball to Copeland in the flats or up the middle will get more yards than giving Shep some touches?

maybe not that often, but he DOES seem to go down without much to show for it, more often than the big backs. if your objective is to move the chains he's not the correct playmaker. if your objective is to hit a home run now and then, he's your guy.
