When are they going to make a legit real life adaptation of DB or DBZ? The last one was a disaster with Justin Chatwin, Emmy Rossum, and Chow Yun Phat as Master Roshi. They need to take it easy on the Asian influence ub this film if they want it to sell. Yamcha had the right personality but didn't really remind me of Yamcha at all with his appearance. Goku was far too old, Krillin didn't even exist and it was really cheesy in every way. Surprisingly the series never really mixed Goku in with popular culture of going to school/trying to be cool etc. etc.

Dragonball: Evolution was beyond awful. You can't have a Dragonball movie based in the "real" Earth. It would have to be the Dragonball universe version of Earth with dinosaurs and shite like that.

The first season of Dragonball was definitely a comedy. That is what it is based off.
it might have been half-decent if they got the rights to use the names and had a decent budget.
i mean:
Dragonpearl-Dragonball
Monkeyboy-Goku
Pigheaded Wizard-Oolong
King (whatshisname)-Emperor Pilaf
It actually was pretty close to the events of dragonball but not being able to use the names and an incredibly low budget hurt it. I think if Evolution tried this approach, it would have been a decent movie but

Rewatching and I'm in the episodes where Gohan is doing his Great Saiyaman thing. Have any of you ever watched these with the Japanese dialogue? His chick teacher keeps reading a book to the class in English - probably more like Engrish - and where it comes from is beyond me. None of it makes a lick of sense.
