Republican vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan walked out of an interview with Detroit's ABC News affiliate after the local news anchor attempted to "stuff words" in his mouth. Ryan was answering a series of questions about violence, guns and gun control laws.
Ryan, addressing gun violence, said the best thing to do is to "help teach people good discipline [and good character. Local anchor Terry Camp asked Ryan if he could do all of that "by cutting taxes" which caused him to get up and end the interview.

Interview went over time and the guy started asking about gun control. Tried to relate it to tax cuts.

That's what it seemed like to me. Someone in the background said the interview was over. Didn't seem like Ryan just stopped the interview abruptly on his own.

Actually, someone else ended the interview,
Ryan's response was fine for a douche bag gottcha journalist.
I doubt any objective person would fault Ryan's behavior there.

What is amazing is the cocky insolent attitude of the abc reporter. He clearly thought he'd done one hell of a fine job and at the conclusion of the clip was patting himself on the back.

This is what seemed like what happened to me. Then, after it was over he called out the douche for being the douche he was, with the completely douchey line of final questions that didn't really make a lick of sense in conjunction with each other.

He didn't get pissed or flustered, the candidate doesn't manage the time, the interview was stopped and heacted civilly and professionally, more so than the reporter.
I thought he handled that well.

Then they sort of talk over each other before the reporter jumps to a silly conclusion, "And you can do all that by cutting taxes?" Well, that doesn't make much sense, but evidently the reporter had already exceeded the allotted time, so Ryan's answered bluntly. "Those are your words, not mine," he said as someone off camera says "Thank you very much sir," and the interview comes to a close. As Ryan gets up, he chirps, "That was kind of strange, you trying to stuff words in people's mouths."
So the interview was over and the interviewer tried to keep going by insulting Ryan.
