It's a series so good, you won't believe you are enjoying a series called "Battlestar Galactica". It's one of the best TV series ever made.

I deliberately never watched it when it was on air because I thought it was one of those shows for geeks. It's now my favorite show ever. Maybe my favorite thing to watch ever.

I don't know if it's better than LOST or not, but, I agree with some of the other posts: It's so good, you can almost forget it's science fiction.
So good, in fact, that my wife (who hates sci-fi) loves it.

BSG is BELOVED around here. I've heard almost literally nothing but good things...seriously, I don't recall ever hearing something bad about it. I may start on it after I finish up The Wire (Carnivale is also in the running).

I have never read anything negative about the overall series. Most people love it. It takes some odd twists and some people (myself included) did not like the finale, but it is well worth the ride.
MAKE SURE - that you watch the mini-series first. I think on Netflix the series starts with the mini-series but I can't remember.

the only negatives i really heard about it was regarding the finale. i do see where some of the criticisms of it comes from but i just wanted an enjoyable and satisfying ending and i got that. i was much more satisfied with this finale than lost. also there were a few lulls in season 3 and 4 that were pretty bad. some stretches i almost wanted to stop watching but then they would return to form and keep me going. overall amazing series

Honestly I've heard how good it was, I gave it a shot, but every time they say "frack" I can't stand it, it annoyed me bc they force it into every episode, we get it, it's a way to say the f word, but when they say it like 19 times an episode it really is annoying and distracting .
My brother who is a TV junkie and introduced me to great shows a la LOST and GOT says it is one of his all time favorite shows, so that's instant credibility that I know it's a great show, I just can't get past cheesy lines like "get out of my fracking face"

i felt the same way when i first started it i even said something similar to this on this board. it is for the fans of the original series though there would have been a huge backlash if they would have removed that staple. it grows on you and doesnt bother you after a while
