In the remaining debates? At least act like he's happy to be there and in control? As an Obama supporter, I can say he sucked last debate

Obama will win comfortably. Romney had to lie and change his stance on everything to get approval. Obama will destroy him in the next debate.

Obama is losing in the democrat-skewed polls, in every battleground state. Wake up.

Some believe Choom Gang Barry the smartest man ever born. It must make them feel impowered. Sad.

Obama will continue to have his arse handed to him because he is attempting to frame his entire candidacy as if he is a challenger and not the incumbent. Obama, deep down, knows he is full of shite and that is projected outwardly to the millions watching. He has lost confidence in his message and Romney will eat him up. You will see a milk toast Obama for the next two elections and they will b e bloodbaths. My prediction is that Dems will look back upon the first debate wistfully.

Exactly. Barry's expression when Mitt said ' you've been President for four years' was priceless. It was like yeah I know but was hoping nobody would bring it up.

Let's assume, just for the fun sake of this discussion, that this ridiculous narrative is COMPLETELY accurate. Are you assuming that Romney will have some sort of 'come to Jesus' revelation, and will instead choose tout the glowing "truth" about Obama's wonderful accomplishments, rather than what he did last time? Or will all the silly folks (what is it, something like 65-70%, according to most polls?) who were obviously hoodwinked by Romney's devious performance, open their eyes this time to the glorious truth that is the foreign policy genius that will surely be touted by Obama in the next debete?

Yes, he needs a kick-arse debate. He somehow needs to ditch the "I am awesome" persona and realize that he is re-applying for a job here. The problem is that his catastrophic resume speaks louder than he ever could. He can fix the body language crap, that was just laziness (racist !). But the substantive case requires him to plant his flag on HUGE,GINOURMOUS, GODZILLA-LIKE GOVERMENT, which is his problem. The undecideds aren't really looking for MORE government, they are looking for GOOD government. And of course, his real problem is that the challenger is hungrier, more prepared, has momentum and the economic record of his opponent to run against. There is a Reagan-esque earnestness about Romney that took America by surprise. And of course now the popular culture has weighed in and there is a sense that voting for Obama is just so 2008.

In apologizing to Hollywood celebs last night for this debate performance he said "I can't perform flawlessly every night". I don't see an immediate change in his persona.

IMO, if Obama just maintains a tie in the next two debates, the media will spin it as victories and will try to discount the first one.

I think romney surprised america but reaganesque seems complete baloney to me. The way obama campaign painted romney, the expectation was for romney to light cigars with $100, quote rush limbaugh and refuse to engage. He obviously did better than that, but it wasn't reaganesque. Obama can win without doing well in the debates, but he will need some romney mis-steps. I would assume he will do better in the next debate, b.c could he do much worse?

needs to address a few of the lies from the first debate. Romney won by misrepresenting his own previous positions.
