| GAI Report Finds OBAMA.COM owned by Bundler in Shanghai (pg 2 for link) (Posted on 10/8/12 at 12:57 am)
It's dropped off the radar. Is it still supposed to be run tomorrow or was this just a non-story?

Obama could take bath salts, run naked down Pennsylvania Ave and eat the face off a bum - and the libs/drones would still vote for him.

the same thing happened in 2008 and no one (read, no one that could do anything about it) cared. Why would this be a big deal this time around?

I think a few more people would pay attention this time. Not many, but maybe enough.

not trying to be a jerk, but why do you think this? The exact same thing happened before. What makes it different this time?

Here you go. LINK / It's basically stuff we already knew. Obama's website doesn't require the CCV code or entering in a correct zip code
quote:
The Obama campaign’s failure to use the CVV is quite possibly costing the campaign millions of dollars in additional fees. Recall that card processors charge higher transaction fees for campaigns that fail to use the CVV (see page 36). In 2008, the Obama campaign raised more than $500 million online. Assuming the campaign paid industry standard rates, the campaign would have paid at least an additional $7.25 million in fees to the banks that it could have avoided if it were to have used the CVV.132..... Even more curious is the fact that the Obama campaign sees the benefit of using the CVV in its merchandise shop. To buy official merchandise from the Obama campaign website—a T-shirt, hat, hoodie, etc., one is required to input the CVV. The Obama campaign has claimed that it doesn’t need the CVV because they are able to vet contributions on the back end using sophisticated techniques that it doesn’t disclose.137 This begs the question: why is it using different techniques when it comes to selling campaign merchandise?
It also talks about how way too many congressmen don't use CCV verification and it is a bipartisan problem.

Media is sitting on it, hoping to get past the election. Like all the rest. Security leaks, Fast n Furious, Benghazi, on and on. Will be interesting to see if the media has any cred when Romney takes the helm...and they MIRACULOUSLY spring to investigative life. Like the boy who cried wolf, will anybody but the 'choir' listen. Doubt it. I don't see how them f'rs sleep; the gotta be in denial.

The issue is they got in trouble for not using CVV last election. Plus to buy campaign merchandise you have to use CVV, but not when making donations. They also said there are a lot of foreign donations which is illegal

The Obama campaign explanation for why they turn off CVV verification is hilarious, and sad at the same time. In their words it can be an inhibiting factor for some small donors. Yep, they argue that having to prove you are makaing a valid donation is "inhibiting" to their small donors.

Same argument against Voter ID laws. These frickers are so transparent, yet do not get called out...

Sophisticated techniques like not giving a frick who is donating to your campaign. As far as the merchandise, you have to send it to a physical address so they use the CVV verification there. They can't hide the fact on where the stuff is being shipped.

I will gladly admit that you guys are waaaayyy bigger political junkies than I'll ever be if you're now discussing fricking cvv codes.

Maybe I'm missing something, but when you use your card a name and address is attached to it right? Why does the CVV make a difference?

You're probably right. It's one of those things that you sound like a little bitch bringing up. But idc about that so I will!! Look damnit...neither JM or MR do what Obama is doing with the codes. There can only be one reason and we all know what that is. For the record it doesn't really bother me...I'm sure there are much worse things going on in politics.

This is what I'm interested in more than any "scandal" bc I know that nothing will "break" until after the election - if even then. However, the media's total disregard for investigative journalism with Libya & F&F is fascinating & frightening at the same time. I keep waiting for some Pulitzer hungry newb to investigate them!
