is closer to me than BPS, so I take a ride out there to look at two things today...
1. Wireless Motor Guide trolling motor. Can I help you sir? Wireless trolling motors? Yes, this $1200 Minn Kota is what we got. Motorguide? No. Well, the back of this display does say that's what's here, prices, specs, and all... let me check. No, we don't sell that. Okay.
2. Trail cams? In Archery, sir. One model, $179.00. Naaa. Too much for my back yard.
Cool GoPro's though. Cool video display, and qty 6 just sitting there in pricey little plastic boxes, with expensive little accessories displayed all around them too. But NO price to be found on the damn cameras.
When this store closes... it won't be because of customers not wanting to give them money.

I agree it's expensive, but deals can be had.
Also you can order anything online and have it sent to the store for free.
I've got lots of deals from them.
Tackle boxes, used shotguns, new pistols, new carbon aries etc. it's finding what you need at the right time.
I have a Motorguide for sale. 
Not wireless tho.

Clearance and sales is where it's at. Their regular prices are definately too high. I have found some damn good deals there. You just have to be there at the right time and be a little lucky.

ETA: I was hoping to look at one today before I purchased. Online definitely an option. After I look at BPS.

i never buy anything from there unless it's in the bargain cave. i went there for black friday once, only to see the same item on sale a week later for a cheaper price. academy is my go to if i want a retailer if not them then i'm getting it from the interwebz

I go there every weekend. Not to buy, but to browse, take my son to play games, taste fudge, feed fish, shoot a bow in the archery dept. that's usually when I find a deal or two.

Usually go to BPS because we live on the Northshore. Took a trip to Cabelas Saturday to look around. I was underwhelmed, to say the least.

they dont have anything that academy doesn't have. their only advantage is their catalog which carries most anything you could imagine, but you're going to pay for it.
